I've been off this weekend, so it's time to clean. Not do my taxes, but clean my house. I AM the Queen of Procrastination!
Spring Cleaning
I've decided I'm tired of living in a cramped, dusty space, I need a change. I needed to dust, clean and remove. I decided I'd start on Saturday as it was supposed to be cloudy with a chance of rain. After having coffee and reading the paper on the porch (I said I was the Queen!) I started on the bedroom. I stripped the bed of everything, removed the matress and box springs to clean out under the bed. This took some time as I had to stop every so often to convince Miss Katrina I didn't need her help. Ever tried to move a queen-sized matress and box springs with the help of a curious kitty? Finally, all was ready to go, I got out the vacuum cleaner and it didn't suck. I changed the bag, and it still didn't suck. After messing around with connections and bags and stuff, I gave up and went to Sears to buy a new one. In this day and age of Disposable Electronics, my vacuum was almost 10 years old, and it was probably time. I didn't realize that there was so much in a vacuum cleaner: Bagless, attachable tools, canister, stair attachment, so many choices. I decided on the least expensive without a bag, took it home and guess what? It sucks. Pretty well, as a matter of fact.
Other rooms
I've decided to Downsize my house. I've just got junk in the other rooms, so when I can, I will start purging. The old bedroom suite has got to go, as does the desk and shelves in my 'office'. I don't use them and I don't like them. So as soon as I can get on my feet, I'll start refilling: floor-to-wall shelves and a sleeper chair for the 'office', maybe a twin daybed for the guest room. Just add that to the list of Everything I Need To Do When I Get a Job.
Thank You, Mr. Governor
The Sunday Alcohol Sales Issue here in the Great State of Georgia is under consideration again this week. There is a big debate over this bill, as polls show Middle Georgia to be heavily against it. The bill is to allow the constituents to vote on the issue of allowing alcohol sales in their county or city. Evidently, the Ga Legislature knows better how we should run our lives than we do, and don't even want to give us the ability to vote on it. They know it will pass, at least in some areas, and they don't want us to drink on Sundays, because of religious beliefs. I thought they were voted in to office to represent us, and we want the right to vote on it. Get over yourselves, Guys.
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
