Hopefully this Drama won't drag on forever. I'm sure in my case it won't. I have my own Drama.
The Next Chapter
The Hairdresser called on Saturday and wanted to see me and Kathy during visitation on Sunday. Kathy had made some phone calls and gotten one dog a temporary home, and we heard that the other dog had found a temporary home, so Kathy and I stopped by his apartment to get some clothes (and remove the vodka) and went to visit him. It was a different place. We had to leave our purses at the front desk and we had to be escorted in to the visitation room. It was just a large room with a table in the middle, similar to a classroom. All the patients that had guests were in that room, no privacy. There was a counselor there who would participate in the visitation, if needed. When the visiting hours were over, each patient was escorted out separately. Hairdresser seemed OK, great sense of humor, desperately in need of a cigarette. He had on hospital garb, they took everything away from him. He was saying the right things, but I'm not completely convinced he understands the seriousness of the situation. He's got information for Grief Counseling, AA meetings, and he's getting help wiht his meds, but will he follow up? Kathy and I both told him if he didn't try, don't bother us anymore. We weren't that harsh, we will give him a chance to try, but we will be unforgiving! After we left, Kathy and I sat on my porch and had a cocktail. Ironic, huh?
It Sucks Being Me
I went to a going away party on Saturday which was great, but hot. Sunday after the visitation, I met some friends at Manuel's for $1.50 beers and $1 loaded dogs. That was fun, just sitting and talking. I found a place I definately have to check out: Java Vino. Coffee and Wine! How exciting!
I have 2 parties to go to this week, Saturday I'm going to see the 'Bodies' exhibit and the Martha Mitchell house and Sunday I'm going to the Shakespeare Tavern. At least I have some contact with humans! Oh wait, they're mostly hashers...
Job Hunt
SSDD. I'm hoping things will pick up in September, when the fiscal budgets are being determined and people get back from vacations. But I'm still sending in resumes! There's got to be a better way...
My friend Diane, in DC got a job after about 6 months, and that seems to be the average time it takes, so I've got 2 more months. Keep me in your prayers.
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'

GiGi has been doing well, if it ever comes down to her needing a new home I think she has one :)
Glad I could do a little something to help out.
