Yesterday was a bit deep, so today is more frivilous..
GNO
Last night was the regular Girls Night Out at Karyn's new digs. It turned out to be a lovely evening, it was still humid, but there was a nice breeze blowing, and sitting by the pool was a good thing. We had lots of conversations about lots of things, some about work, some about men, some about higher education. What, you may ask, did I have to contribute to the conversation, since I don't have a man, a job or a higher degree? Well, nothing really except interest and humor, and really, what more do you need? It was a good evening.
Lunch
Karyn and I also met for lunch. She works very close to where I live, and we've been talking about doing lunch for some time now. It was good to get out and talk. After lunch, I went to the gym for a Really Good Workout. I really like the feeling I get when I push myself. Karyn is participating in a BootCamp exercise event that meets at 6am at Piedmont Park 4 days a week for a month. Sounds great, and she motivated me to 'push myself' a little harder. So when I went to the gym, I increased all the weights by only 5 lbs, but I can feel it today! I only did the upper torso yesterday, so today will be back and lower torso, so my legs will be stiff tomorrow. It's a fine line between pushing yourself and over doing it. If I am (or anyone) is uncomfortable doing a certain thing, they probably won't do it any more, so I don't want to make myself miserable. I don't find exercise miserable, it's getting to the gym that I have trouble with.
Let Me Tell You About My Kitty
Miss K is a true amazement. I'm so enamored of this kitty, it's almost unhealthy! She has a styrofoam container that she's made a bed for awhile. She didn't use is for several weeks, so last week I was thinking about throwing it away, so she's started using it again. Not only does she sleep in it, she digs and claws at it, so there's styrofoam all over the dining room and the cat. My other kitties have their moments, too. Remy LOVES the heat outside, and I've caught her spread-eagled on her tummy sound asleep, just like a dog. April sleeps under the bed, so when I pull out some boxes she's sometimes perched on top of the box. It's a bit unnerving to pull a box of clothes with a fuzzy top from under the bed! Tomorrow, I'll have pictures! You've been warned!
Job Hunt
Again, not much. I did apply to the CleanAir Campaign, but the job offered was a major pay cut (for me) and I'm sure I've got too much experience, but working for a non-profit may be a bit more fulfilling. I've been playing with jobs in DC and I'm amazed at the amount of high-tech jobs available up there. At least 3 times as many as here in the Atl. Who knows where this will end?
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
