Mid-Week and Nothing's Changed!

Hump Day. I could be so lucky.

Job Hunt?
Got an email from the headhunter who turned me on to the Great Job in Alpharetta. Seems they lost or messed up a contract with some software provider, so most of the IT staff has been given 30-day notices. Bummer. So I guess I won't be commuting to Alpharetta. The Headhunter that called yesterday is just waiting for me to come up with references. I can't seem to remember how to spell the names of my former co-workers so I can't seem to get emails to them. I don't even know if they're still there! For the last job I had, I had to go back almost 6 years to find someone still at work! Since the dotcom disaster, most IT consulting firms and others have gone out of business or changed their business goals. Even Bellsouth may be leaving.

My Job Coach told me as a word of warning, this is how the rest of my 'career' will be: always looking for a job, unless I do something about it. Like start my own business. I've never really thought along those lines, but after 'Working for The Man', I can understand that. How many of you are tired of working for incompetent A-holes? Self-absorbed, conceited jerks who haven't got a clue about what you do? Little Men or women who can't be wrong or Micro Managers who know they can do your job better than you? Why can't I be one of those??!!!!

Hi-Tech oneupmanship
My sister sent me a link to an Ipod-cast (or whatever) she orchestrated about my uncle visiting last week. I'm impressed. She's a school teacher who's now on summer vacation and has plenty of time to play. I've invited her down, but like all members of my family, they've always got some excuse for not coming. Anyway, I've got the link to the pod-cast, so I'll try to keep up with her life.
So this 'family reunion' looked like fun: My uncle and his son, my aunt and her son, my cousin and her daughter and both of my sisters. I couldn't make it as I had one day's notice and this took place in Virginia. My uncle now lives in Pocatello, ID and I saw him almost 2 years ago when I went to Idaho. There was a great picture of my mom and her younger brother and sister (my aunt and uncle).

Work out again
I went yesterday, and I plan on going again today. And I hope I have some energy to do something on Thursday. I do want to 'run' at least part of the Pinelake 1000th later in July. And SOB 350th sometime.

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
