Another Fine Day

So here I sit again, waiting. The job hunt really develops your skill in patience.

Bush and the Border
OK, so now we send our National Guard to Guard the borders. I'm not sure what I think about that. We cannot become an isolationist state, but we can't just keep letting people come in illegally and suck our infastructure dry. But we can't just let them all stay here, slap them on the knuckles and go on. They've already broken one law, who says they won't break others? I understand most of the illegals are hard working people, with a good work ethic and strong family ties, but they aren't here because they 'love freedom', they are here because they can make money. So what do they care for the philosophies that the US is supposedly built on? What do WE care for the philosophies that this country was built on?

I guess the big problem I have with this is the fact it's gone on so long and noone has said a word. No efforts have been made to curb the influx of illegals until this year, an election year. So what have the law makers been focusing on? Allowing 2 people who love each other to make that commitment. How does that effect the economy or national security? Now that gas is hovering around $3/gal, energy is a problem. I remember the gas shortage of the 70's and it's always been a concern of mine. But now it's an issue. So I have a prediction: nothing will get accomplished on these 2 topics this year, or next year or even the next year. But next election year, the big topic will be Social Security and Medicare. No problems will ever be resolved as long as government is subsidised by Big Oil, the NRA or other big spenders. The real people, those of us who pay taxes will be ignored. Such is life.

Alligator Feast
What's up with alligators eating people? When I lived in Florida, they the big issue was 'gators eating family pets. Now it's family members. Gross.

Be careful
I have to go now, as I may say something that the Federal Government may twist around to be a national security threat and will start tapping my phone and internet contacts. I'm sure they will all die of boredom, but that's our money they are spending to make sure I'm not a threat, not theirs. Some day I want to be kissed..

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
