It's Already April??

My how time flies when you're having fun..... 'April Showers Bring May Flowers' and we're getting a good dose of that today. It's miserable outside! Rainy and dark and windy, these are the same storms that hit the midwest earlier this week. I've heard of tornado warnings, severe thunderstorm warnings and, of course, high winds. I didn't take any precautions with my cabana, so I may have to buy some more parts. It's too difficult to work with for one person. But I don't think I can get a 'date' just to help me take my cabana down. A dinner date is difficult enough...

Muscle Mountain Mania
What a great day I had! The
Muscle Mountain Mania is a bike ride fundraiser for ALS and is sponsered by several hash groups as well as other organizations. This ride was put together by a family in memory of their father who died from ALS, and, by the way, was a hasher. I volunteered to help and manned the last water stop. What fun! I met all new people, renewed some acquaintenances , the weather was great and it was worth getting out of bed so early! I was talked into going by some friends and it was so worth it. The race had several options, a 50 miler, a 15 miler and a 62 miler. The 'official' route was the 50 miles, and we were about 12 miles from the finish. I learned that dates are exceptional sources of protien and quick energy and I also learned how to make an 'Eiffel Tower' : cracker, peanut butter, cracker, peanut butter, oreo cookie. Add a date to that and it becomes the 'Taj Mahal'. Those bikers were pretty flaky by the time they got to the stop!
It was located in Suches, Ga and if you could see those hills! Beautiful country, amazing scenery and I'm sure more than one rider is hurting today! Maybe next year I'll be in good enough shape to do the 15 miler. Not that I would, but I'd like to be in that kind of shape~

You Asked For It, You Got It
OK, so you didn't ask for it, but here they are: Pictures of the kitties!

This is Misty on her 'perch'. She sits there and looks out the window. Misty is a 10 year-old grey Tortie who would love to be the Only Kitty, but has to put up with the 'others'.

This is Miss Katrina L. Berber, originally from Biloxi. Her name has special meaning, Miss (Mississippi) Katrina (for the storm) L. (because she's Very lucky, but my sister already has a cat named Lucky) and Berber because on the way home she became the car pet. LOL. She's in a rare state of quiet here.

This is Remy and April, sacked out on my bed. That blanket they're laying on is a fake fur blanket, so warm and so comfortable. Remy is a Himalayan, about 4 years old, and April is a black and white semi-long haired 15 year-old. April was a real chubby kitty, weighing in at 14 lbs, but she's since had thyroid issues and she's now weighing in about 8 lbs. Remy is almost due for a haircut now the weather is getting warmer.

I know these aren't the best pictures, what do you expect from a $10 disposable camera. I'm looking for a digital camera, but life has set other priorities and it will have to wait. There will be many pictures of Remy when she gets her haircut, it's so cute to see a 'vicious lion cub' wandering around the house!

Tonite

I'm finishing my taxes and working on my resume. Maybe if I write it down, I'll do it.

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
