I had an interview on Thursday with a recruiter. They were going to present me to Suntrust Bank for a BA position dealing with re-vamping their webpage. So far, I haven't heard anything, which I will take as a 'Not Interested'. The companies like to 'move fast' and will make a decision pretty quickly, unless something comes down the pipeline about funding. I've had several recruiters tell me the company pulled all contracts and wasn't hiring. SunTrust has been hurting for awhile anyway. Who knows. Other than that, ABOSOLUTELY nothing. I'm going to call recruiters this afternoon, and I'll be 95% won't call back. Such is the Game.
The Joy of Being a Kitten
I guess the same is true with babies of all species. They don't have a care in the world, they just play. And if they get tired, they just sleep. Harry is now lodged against my foot, sound asleep. A few minutes ago he was licking, biting and scratching my foot, and I guess he got tired, so he just curled up and went to sleep. He's not eating solid food yet, and not using the litter box, but I've got Harry sized things set up for when he decides to try it. He was checking out the water the other day, but then walked thru it.
Some Random Pictures:
Mom & Harry checking out the water bowl. Betty is a little love. She likes to cuddle and this morning, sat on my shoulder for a few minutes, then draped over my shoulders. She didn't stay as long as Miss K does sometimes, but she didn't jump right off either. I think she and I have the same color green eyes.
Harry relaxing with toys after a busy few minutes
I walked into the room last week to find this:
That ring around his neck is some type of plastic, I think it goes on the vacuum cleaner. Some how he'd got it hooked over his little head. Too cute! BTW, he's crawling into and out of his box now. When I open the door, Betty comes at me making her funny noises, and Harry falls out of his box and scampers across the rug in my direction. I'm not sure if he's running to me or imitating Mom, but it's cute. I have to be so careful when I walk in the room. Yesterday he found his way into the closet and curled up on a cloth on the floor. I took him out and closed the door, only to come back in a few minutes later to find him in there again. I've fixed the door so it isn't open.
Sunday School
I went to church yesterday, and I checked out the Sunday school class my friend Joy has told me about. It was a small group, mostly around my age. They pick a topic, usually from some Christian-themed book and someone leads a discussion. But they tend to structure the class pretty loosely. We discussed some trials and tribulations yesterday, dealing with older parents, looking for a job. Most of the folks have kids, and one couple has a son graduating from High School this week, so they had lots of stuff to take care of. At the church service, they honored all high school graduates, they showed up in their graduation gown and were introduced to the congregation. Most were honor students, many were off to Ga Tech or UGA as engineers or scientists, girls and boys. It was quite touching. After the service, we were talking to one woman who graduated from high school in 1936, Decatur Girls School. She said there were 80 boys graduating from the boys school that year, and at the Battle of Guadalcanal (1942) in WWII, 50 were lost. And we are still killing young men.
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
