Posting on Monday's and Friday's, surrounding the week. Or could it be surrounding the weekend? Is the glass 1/2 empty or 1/2 full?
Positive Thoughts
I have been trying to maintain a positive attitude and squash the Bad Thoughts that are whirling around in my brain. So far, I've had a few bad moments, but mostly it's been working. But this weekend I have to have a positive pep-talk with myself, I'm not so positive today. I gained almost 2 lbs last week, maybe it was the fact that I never made it to the gym or that I went on a grazing binge on Wednesday. (Not too terrible, I had tater tots and chicken for dinner, and some (not the whole bag!) malted milk balls, peppermint patties and peanut butter cups. What I didn't eat, I brought to work and gave away. It could have been worse.)
There's alot of stuff happening around town, but, as usual, I must go alone, so I mostly don't go. Why or why not? It's easier to back out on yourself than if you had someone else to go with.
I'm just feeling sorry for myself. With all this talk of 'cute guys' I still can't get a date, or even someone to hang out with. And this is where the expectations issue came in. It's not the men's lack of expectations, it's the fact that I guess I have too many expectations. I expect SOMEONE (a male) to like me enough to spend time with me. Is that too much to ask?
Speaking of Dates
How about all this stuff with the Governor of New York and his 'sexcapades'? Another hypocritical politician caught with his pants down. Just as I've always said, it doesn't matter if you're a conservative or a liberal, Republican or Democrat, a politician is a politician. What I find most disgusting about this is that Eliot Spitzer brought down a few other escort services in his fight against 'immorality', and here he is, using one he didn't close down. So here's another question: Should prostitution be illegal? Why? Europe doesn't have such hangups about sex, and in some countries it is legal. Is prostitution a 'victimless' crime? Should the government legalize or penalize 'morality'? There is a report that more teenage girls have STD's, but the government supports a 'abstinence only' policy. Emory Village is undergoing a facelift and the developers want Dekalb County (or Decatur City, not sure which) to lift the ban on liquor by the drink sold in the Village. Emory Village is located just outside Emory University, and within 500 yards from a church, and the current law outlaws liquor by the drink. We all know about college students and alcohol, but mixed drinks are usually off limits to college students as they aren't 21 yet. I guess the Baptists are worried that someone will get drunk and go to church. Anyway, Emory Village isn't associated with Emory University, except geographically. The neighborhoods around the business district are very upscale, and quiet. Again, the government is trying to force their morals on the citizens. And don't get me started on Sunday Alcohol sales in Georgia....
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'

That is very libertarian of you. And I agree that moral activities that are victimless should not be governed. Whether or not prostitution is a victimless crime is definitely open to debate. As you say, it does not matter what your party affiliation is, politicians want control. A number of people claim that it is the republicans who are trying to steal away your constitutional rights, and some aspects of the patriot act does certainly do that in the name of security. But there are other rights that will be taken from you in the name of social justice or for the public good if either of the democratic candidates becomes president. For instance, you can kiss goodbye your freedom of speech (i.e. the fairness doctrine, hate speech legislation), your right to choose your own doctor/medical care, your right to protect yourself, your right to discipline your children, our national sovereignty, and even your right to use incandescent light bulbs. Think about it. Your nephew-in-law JC.
He just loves his politics, huh?
