Reality

Damn. It happened. I got my invitation to AARP in the mail yesterday. Only 10 days left before I become eligible. Damn, I guess it's really happening. Problem is, I don't feel 50. I look in the mirror and I see the same person I saw at 25. OK, maybe a bit more of that person, but I'm still there. And I still want to do things, like when I was younger. I hiked up Stone Mountain on Sunday, got off the train and walked more and did 2 miles on the treadmill when I got home on Monday, and did the same on Tuesday. I couldn't move on Wednesday. Haven't been on the treadmill since.

Appropriately enough, there was an editorial in the AJC about how illness, death and dying will be redefined by divorce and distance. Bummer.

Nothing new on the dating front, all these guys on e-harmony won't be 'aggressive' enough to ask when we can meet, I have to do all the initiating. Yeah, I know, this is the 21st century, I am an independent, confident woman..blah,blah,blah. But in the dating scenario, we are all scared. The men are just as wary as the women are, and, like a man, I don't want to be the one sticking my neck out.

Mr. CoWorker is still coming to my office, he even sort of invited me to church last night. I, of course didn't go, but will on Sunday. Why didn't I go? I was CHICKEN. We didn't set a definate plan, he didn't give me directions or a time to be there, so I wimped out. It's also the last minute thing, he invited me yesterday morning to go last night. I need more notice. (I may be desperate, but I don't want to be perceived as desperate. ??!!)

Such is life. Tomorrow is payday, yeah!
