Someone's got to do it... At least it's me!
Good Times and Old Friends
I met an old friend for breakfast yesterday that lasted 2.5 hours. We had a lot of catching up to do... It was great, very inspiring. She was a friend I met in the Networking Group and she's still looking. She's got a pretty positive attitude, she's interviewing some, and I know something will turn up for her.
Saturday night at the dinner party, the Artist gave me some great ideas on how to more effectively market my jewelry. He even suggested a brief 'About the Artist' placard on the table, and instead of hang tags with the prices on them, use larger cards with a description of the piece, what the stones mean and my name. He suggested I could also use a business card, if nothing else. Great ideas! Now I'm thinking of a bio. I trying to come up with an interesting bio, not too outrageous, but a little more 'romantic'. We'll see what I come up with.
Thoughts
I think I join our illustrious Governor at his prayer vigil this afternoon, to pray for rain. He's not doing anything, so maybe God will. When Joyce Meyer was here, she introduced her husband and he prayed for rain, can he be our next governor?? He's done as much as Sonny. Sonny Perdue is from Middle Georgia, is the drought as serious there? We already know he will force his opinions on us (remember the Sunday liquor sales issue? ) so I guess since Middle Georgia isn't suffering as much as Atlanta, let's not do anything but have a prayer meeting. But then, we all know Sonny isn't retiring to anyplace in Ga, he's retiring to all that land he bought (and got a tax break on ) in Florida.
School vouchers: The big talk is all about Utah defeating a bill dealing with School Vouchers. Some say is't good, some say it's a union issue, who knows? I don't pretend to understand all this prattle about it, I just know that if someone is going to get a tax break because they can afford to send their kids to private school, then I should get a tax break because I don't HAVE kids.
Single, childless people are the Disenfranchised Voters. Who represents us? Who has our interests at heart? Kids are important, we must educate and nurture our children if we want to remain a major force in the world, but if we give tax breaks to those who have children, then those who don't have kids need help too.
'Beowulf' is coming out on Friday. I remember reading that epic poem in college when I took British Literature. I've seen the previews and I'm just not sure. I'll find some of my English-major friends and have an interesting evening, I guess. 'King John' on Friday was not all that good. I can understand why it's not performed all that much.
And what's all this in Pakistan?? One of our 'allies' is dissing democracy for dictatorship. Huummm. OK, when are we going to war in Pakistan? I'm sure Cheney and Crew are itching to attack. Lovely.
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
