Hot,Humid Friday... Again

It's not the Heat, it's the Humidity! It's really not that hot outside, it's just very humid and miserable. It's OK if you don't move with a fan blowing on you, but just walk to the kitchen...

Tour de France
It was brought to my attention, that in all my ranting about athletes and their bad behaviour, I've left the bikers alone. Well, I will be perfectly honest, I am an arrogant American. Since Lance isn't in it, I'm not really interested. I know there are other American bikers and teams, I just don't follow it. I like biking, and really, it's more a participant sport than a spectator sport, although there's something cool about watching the Peleton cruising at the start.

As for the doping issue, these guys are smart, they know the rules, what gives? I know Lance made some accusations about some of the governing bodies because he felt that maybe they were out to get him because he was not a Frenchman dominating a French sport. That could be true. I know that it's a gruelling sport and requires lots of pushing yourself to the limit. If the drugs are performance enhancers, don't do it, if they relieve pain, then maybe it's not such a bad idea. But where to draw the line?

There was a great article yesterdays AJC about doping and sports. It asked the question 'Why monitor it? Let them dope all the want' and then it went on to tell of all the young men and women connected with professional wrestling that have died ind the last few years from possible drug related ailments. It's all about winning, being biggest, fastest, and getting all that money. As long as there are humans and greed, there will be doping in sports.

Lindsey Lohan
OK, this will be the last blog on this subject, but maybe we should start a pool: When will she die? We all see it coming, if she doesn't shape up, she will die. It's actually not even entertaining anymore, it's pathetic.

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'

If you want a good story about how sports is supposed to be played, read anything about Cal Ripkin Jr. He just got inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. I have never heard anything bad about him in all the years he played for Baltimore.
