Busy, Busy, Busy!

Lots of phone calls, no interviews... Yet. With this much interest, there's got to be something coming out of this....

Just Another Bad Habit
I took the plunge last week and ordered a chainmaille kit. What a bad mistake. All the kit is is a bunch of rings and some instructions. I've been doing some reading and you must know about metals and thicknesses and that kinda stuff, but I'm just begining. I got the kit on Friday and I spent a few hours on Saturday trying to figure out what these directions meant. They have pictures and directions, you still have to figure it out. But on Sunday I did figure it out, and I spend hours making a regular box chain. Pretty cool. But what a headache! Such small, detailed work, and I'm using the large rings! But, boy, is it going to make some nice jewelry. The large rings are a bit bulky, good for bracelets and men's necklaces. As soon as I finish this first piece, I'm going to try the smaller rings. You can get rings in all types of metals and colors, so think of the combinations! If I could only make a living from this! Yes, everyone needs their own Chainmaille armor!

Miserable Weather
I don't know if it's the weight or the Time of Life, but I can't take the heat and humidity anymore. I keep my house at 75 degrees and, when I'm working around the house, I'm sweating profusely. Just walking out to the mailbox is a chore. And to think I used to live in South Florida! But I believe the difference is the breeze. In West Boca (the slums of Boca Raton) you had the ocean breeze, even that far west and the air never got this heavy. Here in north/central Georgia, the air will suffocate you. No breeze, no movement, just 93% humidity. God, it's miserable.

Kitties
When I was home visiting this summer, my parents had a covered cat box (for their cat!) and it seemed to be less messy than the regular ones. So I bought 2 when I got home. One I thought was too small, so I bought a bigger one, and it's fine for Katrina and April. Poor little Remy doesn't seem to be able to climb inside, she's so little. She just stands there and looks in. It's so cute. The other box is smaller and more her size, so she's good with that. I'm afraid if she's not, I'm the one who will find this out. She tends to let me know when she's not happy with the litter boxes.

Next Week
Boy, does time fly. I'm off to DC next weekend for a class. I have spent more time in DC this summer than I have in 20 years. My friend, Diane called, so I think I'm going up on Friday and staying with her until Sunday, then on to DC for a week. I'll be back in Ga the following Sunday, I guess. I do like not having to make too many plans, just come and go as you please. The problem is the kitties. I can, and have left them alone for 5 days at a time (not this group, my other kitties) and they are OK with it, a bit hungry and quite pissed when you get home. But April is on medication, so I have to have someone come over and give her pills, and I hate imposing on other folks so much.

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
