Productive Weekend

I'm still in limbo. Haven't heard from anyone any way... Oh well.

Painting and Purging
I've managed to consolidate my 2 extra rooms. I'm getting rid of all furniture, all clothes and awhole lot of junk. So I decided to paint the rooms. Whatever my status becomes, those 2 rooms needed some sprucing up, and if I stay, when I get a job, I've got plans for those 2 rooms. If I go, they still need to be cleaned up. I got all the stuff that stays in boxes in the living room or closets and the furniture is still in the room. I picked out a color and got some paint on Saturday. I got all the tools I needed, too, just in case I didn't have any. So Sunday, I started. I took one room, moved all the furniture into the center, took down the light cover, and started with the ceiling. I cut in the corners all the way around the room, and cut in the light. I got the long handle for the roller out and started to take off the roller to wet it and start painting. The handle broke, not the long one, but the handle on the roller. I attempted to fix it with some redneck engineering (duct tape) but that didn't work. Off to Home Depot I went. I hadn't showered, I had my hair pulled back off my face and neck and paint on my hands, but I went. I don't really plan on meeting the Man of My Dreams at this Home Depot anyway. It's in Decatur, home of a Large Lesbian population. I fit right in.

I got home and started. The rooms are both about 12X12, which really isnt' that big. I did the ceiling quickly and decided to finish one room and start on the next. I painted the door and finished sanding the speckling and cleaning the walls. I finished painting that room, but I had to keep telling myself not to inspect what I've done until it dries. When paint dries, it takes on strange colors and textures, so I couldn't worry about what I missed until it had dried.

To make a long, boring story short, I painted both rooms, ceilings and all yesterday. I was asleep at 9:30 last night, and slept very soundly! I'm a bit sore today, from looking up to paint the ceilings, from climbing the ladder to get the high places and from falling all over the stuff I'd moved into the middle of the room. It's going to hurt more tomorrow.

Now to get rid of the furniture, bags of clothes and boxes of Stuff I Don't Need. I've told friends they can have whatever they want, but so far, no one has come over, and I can't wait. So looks like today I'll be loading the car and taking what I can to some donation center. I have to clear out the dining room so I can put my matress and box springs in there to paint my room and then clean the carpets.

Kitties are NOT helping
No, the kitties aren't much help painting. They seem to be hanging outside on the front porch a lot. It has been close to 100 on the front porch, and the humidity has been about 90%, but they seem to love it. I guess they really are descended from the Big Cats. I have to throw them outside when it's 65 degrees, but can't get them to come in when it's 100. Who knew? I look out on the porch and I see 2 kitty carcasses, both laying like limp rags. They have water and a litter box, so I know they aren't dead.

And the boxes. They are having so much fun with all the empty (and full) boxes I have around the house. Crawling in, crawling out, climbing on, knocking over, making noise. What fun!

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
