Another project
I 'started' another project yesterday. When I went home the first time in May, my Dad gave me some metal cabinets, actually old card catalogues, I think. They were metal and had been spray painted gray and Daddy was using them for his tools and hardware. He thought I could use them in my beading endeavours, so I thought I'd give it a try. I cleaned them pretty well as they smelled like oil and I decided to spray paint them. I have 2 sets of shelves, one with 4 drawers, the other with 2, one fits on top of the other or they could stand alone, they just look nice stacked. So I sprayed one a nice Ivory color and attempted to color the handles with a gold pen. To make a long story short, I tried to sand off some of the paint from the handles and I discovered they are already gold, so I bought paint remover and started on that last night. Today I clean the paint remover off. I sprayed the smaller bottom cabinet a nice brown (Nutmeg is the name of the color) and they make a lovely grouping. I'm still not sure what I can use them for, but I'll find something. * This could give you a hint on why I had so much junk to throw away, ya think?
So now maybe I'll strip the paint off the side tables I've been carting around for 20 years. They are a lovely shade of green, but I'll bet the wood underneath is gorgeous. They belonged to my grandmother, I believe.
Exercise
I walked for 30 minutes on my treadmill this morning! What's gotten in to me? I was going for
a walk, but decided to use the treadmill incase I got tired and wanted to come back home. Ya, I'm into this... I did almost 2 miles, so that will be my goal, 2 miles in 1/2 hour. That would be 15 minutes/mile, not too shabby (for an out of shape old lady!)
I have to q
uit posting now as April has decided to come up and visit. She's sitting on the mouse, then moves to the keyboard and nips at my hand when I try to stop her, so I guess she'll get her way. See ya!
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
