Another Beautiful Friday!

The weather is perfect, low humidity, moderate temperatures, cloudless sky. So why doesn't my satellite TV get reception???

Getting Ready
I'm slowly getting ready to be away from home for awhile. I'm cleaning, tossing junk, paying bills, returning stuff, so much to do. I got a haircut today, so is Remy. I've got to get flea stuff for the kitties, it's about that time of year. I've forwarded my mail, I'm going to look into forwarding the phone, (that can be done, can't it??) returned library books, quit my job... I'm sure something else will come up.

Parental Update
Talking to my sister, who's been up there all week, Daddy is fine, looks good and sounds good. According to my Mom, he's OK, still having some issues, but OK, and according to my Dad, he's going to die tomorrow. So who knows what to believe. Daddy isn't accepting getting old. He's walking with a cane, but hates it. He may have to be on oxygen, but hates it. We've said for years he's loosing his hearing, but theres NO WAY he'll wear a hearing aid. He was complaining about being short of breath all the time and he can't do stuff. I joked with him about not being able to run a mile, like he used to (he never was a runner!) and that he's got to give himself some time to recover. He is right in that he never had shortness of breath before the pacemaker, wonder what's up with that?

Job Search
I think I've narrowed down my search to 3 industries: Hospitality (hotels, food/beverage distributors), higher education institutions and government. I will admit, it's all about the perks at this point in life. If I can work for a hotel, I can get a discount, if I can work for a college or university, I get discounted classes. If I work for the government, I get good benefits without working too hard. (Sorry, government workers!) I'm also thinking about organizations that specialize in retirement communities. They would want to hire older workers, and maybe I could get some benefits for future use. Landing a job in DC in any of those industries would be a breeze, but Atlanta wouldn't be too far behind with the higher educations facilities.

Just keep reading these pages, I'll be posting as often as I can. My parents don't have a computer, so I'll be going to the library. I'll see if I can't 'borrow' my sister's new laptop computer. At least I could go to bookstores or coffee shops.

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
