Another Week

It's been a year since I had a real job. I could get used to this not working thing.

Grilling Dogs
The past 3 days I've been cooking outside the store on a large charcoal grill. I've been cooking dogs and burgers, all for the March of Dimes. I love being outside, it's a bit more relaxed than being in the store, but it has it's drawbacks: I'm all alone. Yes, I bring my radio and listen to some tunes and I talk to all the people coming in to shop, but who runs to get stuff when I run out? Who comes out to give me a break? I worked Friday and Saturday without a break, not even to use the restroom or eat. According to our Asst. Customer Service Manager, there was no one to help me. I guess she doesn't know about State and Federal Laws. Certainly she didn't want to help because that would mean she'd HAVE TO DO SOMETHING. When management can't solve your problems, it's a bigger problem than just yours. I was so tired from trying to handle it all myself, I went in on Sunday and went straight to the manager and told him I wasn't having fun anymore. He rolled up his seleves and helped me cook all day. We made twice as much money as I did on Saturday and I got a break. Everything is easier with someone helping.

Grillers Lungs
I got caught a few times yesterday downwind of the grill, and I think it's hurting me today. When I got home last night, I jumped in the shower and just wanted to wash everything out, eyes, nose, lungs, hair, etc. I'm coughing today, and my throat is scratchy, hopefull from just grilling out.

Dinner and New Friends
I was invited to dinner last night at a new friends house. I met this woman thru the Job Seekers group and we seem to have lots in common. She invited me over to a nice, small dinner with two of her old friends, Nancy and Julie. We had so much fun. Turns out, Julie and I have some acquaintences in common, she knows my old guitar teacher and she knows one of the WheelHoppers. It really is a small world.

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
