That pretty much describes me...
Financial Overhaul
I finally did it yesterday, I joined the Credit Union for the company with which I work. I had to drive all the way to Old Towne Norcross (which is lovely, by the way) and do all the paperwork. This means more work on my part as they don't have easily accessible branches and until Direct Deposit kicks in, I'll either have to work by snail mail or drive up there to deposit my checks. But in the long run, I'll be saving money. They don't charge to transfer money from savings to checking in the case of an overdraft, which my bank does. If you don't have money, you can't buy anything. My bank allows you to continue to draw on your account (using your check card), charging you an Over Draft fee of $35 for every transaction. So you go to buy a $3 drink, and a $7.00 lunch, and you've not only overdrawn your account by $10, you also get hit with $70 in fees. Can you say 'Bend Over'?
Job Hunt
I'm still going strong with the online job apps, even though they don't really get any interest. I've got a good feeling about the IIBA contacts, something good will come from this. I'm already making a list of Things I Have to Do when I start making some real money. (You know, home repair, lawn care, pet care, etc. Things you can put off for awhile, but need to get done.)
Cooking Wench
I'm cooking Turkey Chili this week, come on by and try some. If I can prepare it, so can you! And it will be a great appetizer for the Super Bowl parties!
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'

You should post the recipes on this site so we call all try them....
I recently closed my Wachovia savings account and opened one online with ING. Wachovia charged me $5 a month and I was making about .30 in interest. ING pays almost 5% interest and no fees. It does take a couple of days to get money from ING to/from Wachovia, but that makes saving a little easiers. Plus they gave me $25!
I use to be very pro-credit union until the one from Purdue told me I didn't make enough money to buy a car and wouldn't give me a loan. Then they started charging me $5 a month because I wasn't using my account. Oh well it wasn't very convient, it being in Indiana and all...
I just switched from Wachovia to Ing as well. The free $25 was nice. I've had a very small saving account with Georgia Power Credit Union forever, just to have it, but I don't know if I will ever use the credit union for anything else.
