Thank GOD I don't have to add Christmas shopping to the list!
Tomorrow
I'm preparing for my show tomorrow. Come on down to Atlantic Station Market to sample the crafts and buy some Christmas gifts! I'll be staffing my table with all my wares from 10 - 5. It will be cold, and I'm not sure how I'll get to the restroom or get lunch (I'll pack my lunch bag!) but I'll be fine. I actually have a tent, I have to supply the table and set up. I'm trying to coordinate all this in my mind, so I'm sure I'll forget something. If you want to come by and visit, please bring a chair!
Christmas, Bah Humbug!
I haven't really had a Traditional Christmas since I moved away from my family. The jobs I had in Florida were in the service industry and Christmas was their busiest time of the year, so they had a blanket policy of no vacations, so I made due. In some ways it's actually more fun not to be home, I can relax, I'm not fighting with the family. I have gone home for a few years and that only resulted in bad feelings so I don't really miss it. Mom and Dad are getting up there, so I try to get home at least once or twice a year, but Christmas isn't one of them.
This Christmas, as last year, I'll be having some friends over on Christmas Eve, to drink wine and play Uno. We had a blast last year, so I'm attempting to expand the attendance a bit. If it's nice weather, we can go out on the deck with the chiminea blazing or stay in with a fire in the fireplace.
A Christmas Carol
As in years past, I'm 'organizing' a group to go see 'A Christmas Carol' at the Shakespeare Tavern. I've done it a few years with a smaller group, but about 2 years ago I introduced Harold to the event. His favorite story of All Time is 'A Christmas Carol' and he just loves to go. He starts mentioning it in October. So this year, we've got about 20 people going. It's a great time. Harold makes 'Smoking Bishop', and a good time is had by all..
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
