Didn't post on Friday as the Blogspot server must have had problems, and didn't blog yesterday as Comcast seems to have had problems. I'm so spoiled, if I don't get 'Instant' access, I don't deal with it.
Employment
I'm now partially employed. Yeah! 20 years in IT, a 4 year-college degree and I'm a part-time cashier at a grocery store. WooHoo. Actually, the grocery store seems to have a fairly fast-track into management and admin, so this could be my second career. Who knows, I may end up loving the environment. Still hunting for a 'real job' but I'm still not sure that's what I want to do when I grow up.
Let me Tell You About My Kitty
It's gotten pretty cold lately, but I still don't have the heat on. It's in the 50's today, but will be 68 tomorrow, so I won't turn the heat on till it gets cold and stays cold. I'll use my Personal space Heaters, otherwise known as April, Remy and Katrina. Last night, I was sitting on the couch with my legs up and a blanket, one cat stretched out on my legs, another sitting by my side, the other at the end of the couch, all asleep. At night, Remy sleeps on the bed, and Katrina sleeps on my shoulder. She crawled up under the blankets and stretched herself across my waist and slept for awhile. Last night, she was under the covers, curled in the crook of my arm all night. What a sweety. When I got up, I turned on the space heater in the bathroom. She comes in and sits directly in front of the space heater, watching it glow orange and put out heat. I didn't get warm, but I had a very toasty kitty.
The Caulk Episode
Well, I didn't get sucked into a tube of caulk, I'm steal dealing with it. After I let the caulk dry for a few days, it seems to have been sucked down inside the tile. I guess I didn't put it on thick enough, so I'll try it again on Thursday. I don't have to work, and it will be raining, so that's a good day. In the meantime, I've used some Redneck Engineering and duct taped around the tub. Hey, it works. At least I don't have old cars in my driveway, a couch on my front porch and my house isn't on wheels!
Election Time
I hate this time of year, all the ads from politicians promising crap. And the phone calls! 'Hi, I'm Don T. Trustme, running for some Political Office. Please vote for me on November 7, I promise not to steal you blind or lie to you'. BS. If it weren't for political calls, my phone wouldn't ring. I also find it amazing how our illustrious President is all of a sudden changing his mind about Iraq. Could it be that he feels the Republicans will lose their majority in congress due to his Bad Call? Hhuummm, I wonder. And why are gasoline prices suddenly so much lower? I'll be we'll be paying close to $3/gallon in December and January.
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
