Another Hump Day

Thinking and doing outside the Box, I'm living Life on the Edge!

New Schedule
This really isn't a stretch for those of you who are wearing the Corporate Ball and Chain, but I varied my routine this morning and went to the gym. OK, so it was about 10-ish, but it was in the morning. My workout wasn't as good as it has been, but I still did the entire workout. This will cut down on my coffee drinking. Instead of making 6 cups of expensive Gevalia coffee, I'll be buying a $1 cup of QuickTrip coffee. (In a 10 oz cup, 6 cups of coffee works out to be only about 2 with some left over) Hhuummm...

Government Interference
I just read an article about Terri Shiavo's husband who's starting a PAC called TeriPAC, aimed at defeating all the politicians who interfered with his wifes case. He's endorsing all the opponents of these politicians, including Nat Lamont (he just defeated Lieberman) and Jim Davis, Democratic opponent of Jeb Bush, governor of Florida. I say 'Go For It!'. Let's hope people are waking up and wanting to get government out of their lives. The GOP seems (or atleast used to ) advocate less government, and they seem to be doing it as far as business is concerned, but when they start playing doctor, it's None Of Their Business. There is a case in Virginia (sorry, I can't find any links at this time) of a teenager with Hodgkins Lymphoma who is choosing herbal treatment, so the governement takes him to court to force him to undergo conventional treatment. The judges today decided to let him do what he wants. Why does the government try to get involved? They don't have to pay the bills, they don't have to live with the emotional stress, but I guess it's all for the Good of the Country.

Have I told you about my cat?
I have new pictures of the kitties I need to get posted. I didn't take them to Target this time, but CVS was having a special on 2 sets of prints so I got them and didn't get them on CD. I have a scanner, so I guess I'll have to get around to connecting that.... I did bore Barb and Alan on Sunday with pictures. I'm sure they think I'm disturbed, but they're Hashers and ParrotHeads, so I'm not worried. ;-) Anyway, I've noticed some strange (OK, More strange) behavior of my kitties, when it's 90-100 degrees outside, they love to sit/lay/sleep on the front porch, outside in the sun. When it's cooler, you can find them sacked out on my bed or the couch. They really don't want to hang out on the porch, but on Really Hot Days, you can't get them inside. I've also decided that I am, in fact, allergic to my cats. I seem to spend a lot of time sniffing, blowing my nose and not breathing and it seems to get worse when they sleep on my shoulder. What I put up with for these 'B*tches in Fur Coats'. (Sorry Lynn, I won't steal Murray's nickname!)

Job Hunt
Absolutely Nothing. There seem to be less openings. I've been able to apply to atleast 2 jobs a day (usually more) just here in the Atl, but since August 1, it's gotten very quiet. I'm hoping it's just the business flow, August is a slow month, everyone is out on vacation and budgets are getting finalized for next year. There should be a lot of activity in September and October, then things will drop off till January. Maybe I'll be working at UPS this christmas, loading trucks...

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
