I'm doing this early as I won't be posting tomorrow!
Sunday
I got out of taking my friend to the airport before dawn on Sunday, so I went to the Sunday Morning Runners with a bit more rest than intended. We had a very good time. I walked with the Colonel and his little charge, Emma. What a beautiful baby! She's just a tiny thing, so happy, pulling herself up to start walking. She slept the whole time in her stroller, and let us know we couldn't rest too long as she liked the resting woke her up. I can't believe that walk did me in like it did! I came home and went into a coma for about 1/2 hour, and I didn't sample the mimosa's or the beer.
Saturday
Saturday was Canada Day, and the hashes were appropriately planned to celebrate this event. I did the Canada Day hash a few years ago, and it was all Molson and Poutine, lots of 'Take off, eh', and just general Canadian euphamisms. (?!) (Anyone remember the Great Career Move by Geddy Lee? Performing 'Take Off to the Great White North' with Bob and Doug McKenzie??) I got up in the morning and put on my Vancouver T-shirt, all ready to go. As the day progressed, my mood went down the toilet and I didn't want to go anywhere. So I managed to get to the gym, which improved my mood greatly, but I still didn't want to go out. My friend, Sue, called and asked if I wanted company. I haven't spent time with her in quite awhile, as she's got a boyfriend. If I hesitated, it was only cuz I didn't want to get dressed and go out. She said she was in the area and had a bottle of wine, so how could I refuse??! We had a great time, just catching up. Things are different when you don't have a lot of shared experiences.
Pub Crawl
Tomorrow, I will participate in the Atlanta Hash Peachtree Road Race Pub Crawl. It's a series of beer stops along Peachtree Road during the 10K Road Race. No, we aren't running, that's why it's called a Crawl. I've done it before, and it's just so silly, it's fun. We walk enmasse, singing songs, yelling at runners, stopping at all the red lights. It's 3+ hours of insanity followed by a cookout to sober you up. I'm usually home, passed out on the couch by 2pm. Hey, who wants to grow up??!
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
