Is It Summer Yet?

I've enjoyed these last few weeks with the temperature in the 70's and the humidity low. I don't mind if stays like that! But now, temperatures are in the mid- to upper-80's and it's a bit difficult to move very fast without breaking a sweat. At least the humidity is low. I haven't turned on the AC yet as it's still nice outside at night, but when that humidity starts climbing, the AC will come on.

Get A Plan
I need to solidify a plan for the job hunt, but this is a plan for today. I was combing Miss K last night and found 5 fleas. I knew she had fleas, she had the tell-tale flea dander, but I didn't know how bad. 5 fleas lead to 10 fleas lead to 20 fleas... you get it. I got one off of April this morning, and I haven't even attempted to comb Remy. She's a Himalayan, a walking fur ball, true Flea Bait. So I'm making an appointment for her to get her summer haircut. She's so cute when she gets her haircut! I'll post a picture when I get it. She's now a walking cotton ball, about 2 feet in diameter. After the haircut, you could put your hand around her little body. A little lion cub.

Job Hunt
Same old, same old. Lots of resume's sent out, no response. This will end, hopefully before I have to sell my house. I can't really do the roommate thing, with 3 cats and not much room, it would be very difficult and uncomfortable to bring in a perfect stranger.

My Roommate Story
In the last 20 years, I've had exactly 2 roommates. The first one, in the 80's, moved in on a Friday night, 8 days later I was involved in a car accident that put me in the hospital. My parents came down and moved into my apartment, with my roommate. We had to kick her out when I got home from the hospital as I still needed some assistance. That was just fine with me, she was carrying on an affair with a married man, and would bring him to the apartment.

Then in the 90's, I got another roommate. I did all the reference checks and all that, and let her move it. She was working several part-time jobs, but she was active with the Synagogue. She was a great roommate, keeping later hours than I and very seldom home at the same time I was. I had her pay me in cash, so when she paid her rent, I took the money and stashed it in my dresser drawer until I could get to the bank. I went back 2 days later and the money was gone, as was Amy, she was in New Jersey. How could a person, working 2 part-time jobs, come up with enough cash (about $500) to pay rent and fly to New Jersey. We lived together one month, and I kicked her out. That's the last roommate I've ever had, and I said then, the next one will be the permanent kind. So now I'm just an old set-in-my-ways cat lady.

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
