Spring.. And All The Flowers are In Bloom!

I have some beautiful Iris' that are blooming this year. I planted them last year (or the year before) and they are finally blooming this year. Gorgeous! Light purple with darker falls (3 lower petals of an iris flower), and all dark purple. I have some other amazing iris' that are yellow, but in a fit last fall, I mowed them down. They are still there, but I believe they have to be a certain height to bloom. So next spring I'll have yellow and purple. I Love Iris.

South Florida
This is why I love South Florida. For some reason, they seem to have a large population of Really Stupid People, Crooked Medical Professionals, Shady Businesses and Criminals. When I lived down there, I'd call home to tell my parents I had a new boyfriend, and mom would start watching America's Most Wanted because all the crooks went to Miami. Anyway, I read this article about a man giving fake breast exams in an apartment complex. Sure, I'd believe him. These women were blonds, right?
Then there was the story of the lottery winner getting shot . He won enough money to buy at least one car, but he's shot stealing cars?? I guess you don't have to be a PhD to be a criminal...

Government Secrecy
I read this article in the AJC today. This administration really scares me. The high level of secrecy and what they deem to be executive privilage is not right. These people are elected officials, and, in theory at least, they work for ME. I have a right to know that the government is not listening to what I say and is being honest and truthful in their decision making. Bush made a comment the other day (and I can't be exact) but it was along the lines of 'What I say is right'. Well, he's a president, not a dictator. This is a government of checks and balances and granted, the head of the government should have final say but he should have the input of all the checks and balances. Is Bush really doing that? They (the Administration) seem to quiet any entity that disagrees with them. We have to have an alternate view and that alternate view HAS to be given attention. We HAVE to have some debate and disagreement at upper levels of the government. That's what makes this a democracy.
