Pollen, Pollen Everywhere.

I'm not completely plugged up and can't breathe, but my face and eyes are puffy, my neck, face and eyes itch and my eyes are burning. I'm sneezing, sniffing, my nose is red from blowing it all the time and, frankly, I'm very uncomfortable. The pollen count yesterday was 5800 or so, 2nd highest since 1995, when it was over 6000. I will have to do some cleaning this weekend as I keep all my windows open and I've got a lovely covering of yellow, cat hair and dust all through my house. I'm not going to clean it all up, I'm not that motivated, but I think maybe a good vacuuming and a weak attempt at dusting would help. I'm definately taking all the sheets and blankets off the bed. I'm not going to kill myself cleaning this up, the pollen season isn't over yet. I'll do most of the serious cleaning when my car isn't yellow any more.

Slutty Bimbo
Last night, I was one of several Slutty bimbos for the SLUT hash (Slow, Lazy, Urban Trail). It was fun, lots of old faces, and some new faces. It was a short trail, with a beer stop on the hill where we celebrated Nancy's birthday last Tuesday. It was great being outside, with friends.

Atlanta Trails
I like to think I know my way around town pretty well, there are some areas that I don't have a clue about, but mostly I can find my way around. The problem I have is I can visualize where I am and where I want to go, but can't really connect the two. Last night I left Lawrenceville Highway and North Druid Hills Rd to go to Amsterdam Ave, off Monroe Dr in VaHi. So how do I get there? NDruid Hills to Briarcliff to Johnson Rd. to Morningside Dr to Piedmont to Monroe. OR NDruid Hills to 85 to 10th? NDruid Hills thru Emory? I ended up with the first option, except I missed the turn off Johnson Rd and ended up on NHighland. I got to Amsterdam and turned left, which was wrong. So I turned around, crossed back over NHighland and missed the sharp left to Amsterdam, turned around and found the start. And coming home, I turned on Morningside, missed the turn onto Johnson and took Rock Springs to N Decatur. I wasnt' sure where I'd end up on RockSprings, but I saw signs to Emory Hospital and figured it out. At least I wasn't pressed for time and I really enjoyed driving in that area. The homes are so beautiful and with all the flowers blooming, it was quite an eyeful. Hey, take some time to smell the roses!

Dogwood Festival
The Dogwood Festival is this weekend and I'd like to go. It doesn't look like there are any big headliners in the music scene (Edwin McCain, but I'm not familiar with his music) but it's always fun people watching. I volunteered for a few years in a row, but they are so unorganized it's hard to get refreshments at the tent and it would be easy to run out of beer and colas. Too much frustration for a volunteer position. Besides, the t-shirts are the same every year.

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
