Let's push the envelop!

I'm going to try to publish 2 posts today. Wish me luck.

Government Holiday
Yesterday was a government holiday. Which one, you ask? I believe it was Earth Day. Imagine, a government holiday for Earth Day... So I'm off today to apply for Unemployment. I couldn't get the GaDOL on the phone yesterday (no mention of a holiday, just call back during office hours, 8:30 - 4 Monday - Friday. What day was it??) So I went to the place listed online to go and apply. I walked in to an almost deserted office, and FINALLY got some attention. I was told that place hadn't been used for Unemployment application or anything to do with the SocSecurity Office or DOL for almost 20 year. Boy, that web page is up-to-date!

Year of the Cat
Last night I saw Al Stewart at Eddie's Attic in Decatur. All you Kewl Kids who were too cool to go missed a really great performance. He's a great song writer and story teller, and an amazing guitar player. He sang 'the only song about the Basque Sepratist Movement and the downfall of the British Empire to make the American Top 40' among other great songs. He did a History of Rock-N-Roll (you start out with 4 chords...), lots of history stories and the Story of how he Ruined the Second Show of the Beatles in his hometown in 1963. We had sing-alongs, helped him remember some verses to songs he hadn't sung in a while and had a rousing chorus of 'Why Must I Be A TeenAger In Love'. He laughed, talked with the audience and basically did some standup. What a great guy! A very enjoyable evening, and I suggest you go see him when he plays near you!

I was also told that I must see Richard Thompson when he comes to town. He was in Fairport Convention and Al Stewart did mention him as another suvivor of that time in England...

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
