And a lovely, rainy, cold day it is, too! I'm on a 'Get out of your rut' phase (again) so I'm trying new and different things. I'm going to the gym tonite after work. I hate going on Mondays as everyone is there trying to work off the weekend or start their workout routine, but hopefully this Monday will be different, as today is a holiday for everyone else. I did do my treadmill yesterday morning and I did feel better. Exercise is always a good thing.
Little Things Mean Alot
For some reason last week, I got onto a Johnny Depp website. I'm really not sure why, I recently saw 'Corpse Bride' and want to see who else was featured, I guess. I saw a movie listed on his filmography that I'd never heard of with a last year's date. I had to check it out, so I read some reviews. The reviews are on the negative side, but that's OK. The movie is called The Libertine. My favorite movies are 'period peices', historical fiction or just historical. I am also all about long hair on men. I will find the pony tail in the crowd. So imagine my suprise to find that this movie takes place in 18th Century England, in the time of Charles II, and he plays a restoration era 'gentleman'. Any picture of Charles II shows a man with long, curly, flowing locks, and the promotional pictures show Johnny Depp with long locks and frilly shirts. I tried to rent the movie, but it hasn't even been release yet. March 10. Even if the movie isn't very good, the Eye Candy is worth the admission price. It also seems to be a bit of a quirky tale, another of my interests. I have friends that won't watch movies I rent as they are 'too weird'. I enjoy different types of movies. I was the one that rented 'Nine Dead Gay Guys' and watched it with a 6 gay men. It was hysterical!
Oh My!
Saturday found me wandering around in the rain researching things. I had to find Hobby Lobby
to check out their beading supplies, so while I was up there (Gwinett County), I HAD to check out Ulta3 Cosmetics and since I'm 'in the market' I checked out Circuit City for their i-Pods and digital cameras. I was blown away. Having done no research, I couldn't make any decisions, but I couldn't believe there were so many to choose from! I also made the mistake to go over and look at boom boxes and speakers. My component system (JVC) is about 12 years old, and the floor speakers are 120 watts and stand about 4' tall. I saw some that were 200 watts and stood on the shelf! Is it time to get a new system? Just add that to the list of everything else I want... Back in the day, I used to know something about stereo equipment, but technology has obviously overtaken any knowledge I may have had. Although I did see an Technics belt-driven Turntable for about $100, which is what I paid for mine back in The Day.
Digital Camera vs $9 disposable camera?
I discovered that you can buy a disposable camera and have it developed onto a CD rom to upload to your compter. Just what I needed! I have furniture I'm trying to sell, I have my jewelry that I make so now I have a way to post pictures without having to buy a digital camera. I know they take much better pictures and for the jewelry that would probably be my best bet, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do, and this will work for me. Let's see the quality of the pictures....
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
