Here it is the start of the new year. Time to throw out the old, clean the house, get plastic boxes to organize things, make the resolutions. As I did last year and the year before, I've resolved to become more organized. If anyone knows me, you'll understand what a major undertaking this will be. I'm getting better, I now have everything in boxes. Not sure what's in the boxes, but a lot of my clutter is in a box. Last year I didn't have a real job, so I didn't really make too many resolutions, except to figure out what I want to do when I grow up. This year, I've resolved to act on my plans. I'm still fretting about getting my hard wood floors refinished, so I'm going to do that. I have some other things around the house that need to be fixed, so maybe I can package them all together. Know of a good carpenter/floor refinisher??

What fun that is! 200 of my best friends and I celebrated the New Year with about a 3 mile walk, Wisconsin beer, cheese curds and Brats. It was a lot of fun, as always. Afterwards was the bowling, which I didn't go to this year, as I had to work today and we all know one cannot bowl without drinking copious amounts of beer! Lots of folks I hadn't seen in a while were there, all hungover but happy. It's a great way to start the year.
Too Early
Once more I missed my 5:30am appointment with my treadmill. Maybe tomorrow. I will force myself to use it tonite, gotta stick with the New Years Resolutions. I belong to a gym, and have for many years, but going to the gym this time of year is rediculous. Everyone who starts their diet starts at the gym this week. You have many new folks, straining to learn the machines, and straining their muscles. By February, all the newbies will be gone and mostly the hardcore folks will be working out.
New Years Eve at Times Square
I watched this spectacle on TV. Watching Dick Clark struggle with his words was hard. You've got to give the guy credit, he his pretty amazing to want to do that. But he's rich enough that he doesn't have to. He just seemed tired. Anyway, I was in Times Square for New Years Eve back in the day. (Yes, we did have electricity but no internet) I remember it being cold, crowded, no public bathrooms, and exciting. At some point during the night, my boyfriend tried to stop a drunk from pushing his way thru the crowd, which almost started a street brawl and I got hit in the mouth with a beer bottle dropped by a drunk climbing the street light above me. After the ball was dropped we almost had to sprint out of Times Square as it wasn't the safest spot in the world then. We got back to the room, and as my boyfriend hung out the window belching the alphabet, I thought, 'We've got another 2 days of this??!'. We did walk across Brooklyn Bridge the next day and just wandered the town. I had fun, but I'll never go back for New Year's Eve.
Good Tidings
Hope the New Year brings good things. I hope all your dreams come to fruition and you get new dreams!
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
