Life Goes On

I was going to use this space this morning to vent my frustration at the recent turn of events in a rather infantile scenario in which I was an enabler/participant. I am by no means a victim, but in my ever hopeful attitude, I was making something out of it which never existed. So after getting my feelings and my pride bulldozed without even a hint of an apology, I'm hoping I've finally learned from my mistakes, but I'm afraid I'm doomed to continue making the same mistakes. So I vented a little...

Politics
Yesterday in my blue funk, I sent an email to my immediate supervisor and copied in others higher up the ladder. I was bored at work and resent being given vague ideas of what I need to do, so I vented. I have never been one to do office politics well. I don't play games (in anything, including personal life (read above)) and I expect people to be honest, so I'm always shocked when I get burned. I guess you'd call that naive. Anyway, I came out OK, I've covered my butt as best I could. I have a good working relationship with my immediate supervisor (still) and he's a pretty good guy.

More Politics
I didn't see the Bush address the other day about the war in Iraq or whatever else he had to scramble about. I did hear that he directly chastized Hillary Clinton and others for being anti-war. I also heard he wants the Patriot Act passed again for another 7 years. What are we becoming, a police state? Yea, in the 'war on Terror' we probably need to keep a close eye on the suspected terrorists, but what's to keep these politicians from spying on their rivals? Does anyone remember Watergate? Once the right to spy on a few people is granted, it will easily be misused to spy on whoever they want. The government HAS to be constantly monitered, questioned and made responsible for their actions. The other party will do that for sure, but these guys have gotten so consumed in oneupmanship that they don't do the job they were elected for, to represent the people.

You heard it here first!
We will invade Iran before we find BinLaden. But then, we will probably never find BinLaden.
It took Roosevelt 4 years to bring Germany and Japan to their knees. How long will we be in Iraq? I am a history freak, but I am not much into 'modern' history, so WWII isn't my strong suit. If I mispoke, I'm sure I'll be told.

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
