Happy Monday!

Welcome to another wonderful week. To all my new friends and old friends that are reading this, thanks for taking the time. I don't really have anything important to say, but I still want to say it.

After reading many good reviews, I went to the Graveyard pub in East Atlanta on Saturday for dinner. What a lovely place! The bartender, Shon was a lot of fun. He introduced us to the new owners, told us a little history of the building and was very helpful. He knows his wine, and we had some tastings of wine on the wine list. Which isn't to bad, by the way, lots of Italian wines.. So next time you go, ask for Shon.

A monster has been created!

I sold another piece of jewelry last night. My friend Margaret now considers me a 'professional' as I sold this piece to a stranger. I've sold one other piece to a friend and that didn't count. So I can now put 'Jewelry Designer' on my resume! I'll be getting some pictures of my creations and posting them here. I've gotten into this beading thing and it's consuming me. I like making pretty things.

Shakespeare and Smoking Bishop

Friday I went with a bunch of my friends to the New American Shakespeare Tavern. We didn't see anything by Billy the Bard, it was Chucky Dickens and 'A Christmas Carol'. What a great performance. I really like this place, it's designed just like the Globe theater would have been, small, cozy, and intimate, but no sawdust on the floor, and they have chairs. I've been going regularly for several years as I'm a season ticket holder. It's like a Renaissance Dinner Theater, beer, wine and a great menu. And their Apple Crisp is to die for! I highly recommend this place. One of my friends made some Smoking Bishop (which is mentioned in the story) just for this occasion. It's basically a mulled wine. It was a lot of fun.

Buckhead...Bah HumBug!

After the play, some of us went up Peachtree Street to a cute little pub, McCreary's. I remember now why I hate Buckhead. (Actually this is Midtown, but it's the mentality Buckhead had a few years ago). After driving around the block a few times, I pulled into the parking area on the premises. $10 to park is stupid, IMHO. So I had to drive around the block a few more times and finally swallowed my pride and found a spot for $6. I walked up to the tavern and there was a nice looking guy guarding the door. In my exasperated state, I snapped at him 'And how much is the cover charge??', expecting to be hit up another $10 just to sit in this establishment. He smiled and said 'No cover'. That changed my mood completely. That's one reason I stopped frequenting the bar scene, especially downtown. It's going to cost upwards of $20 just to get in the restaurant(including parking), not to mention the high priced drinks, the rude people and the cigarette smoke. Anyway, I was in a good mood till I realized he was the bouncer and he didn't even ask to see my ID.

More to come...

As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
