When I left my house this morning, there was a thin coating of ice on the tree branches. It was such a pretty site. Ice covering the trees or newly fallen snow is so beautiful. But one can't help thinking about the condition of the roads and the traffic when admiring this beautiful scene. Ah modern life. There is nothing so ugly as plowed snow about 3 days old, dirty. The aforementioned TV show ('Bones' on Fox) supposedly takes place in DC. Tuesday it showed a blinding snow on Christmas Eve. I lived in DC for almost 30 years and remember snow on Christmas Eve maybe twice. Also, it wasn't blinding as depicted. It's never blinding in DC, it's too wet to blow around. I remember the Blizzard of '66....
Toiletpaper Stalker
My new kitty has discovered that the toiletpaper is a great toy. I have half eaten rolls of toilet paper in my bathrooms now. It's hysterical to watch her go at it, she just bites and tears, very intent on what? Eating it? Killing it? Who knows? I've had 9 cats in my lifetime and none of them have ever been fascinated with toilet paper. She did unroll some the other day, so I had a pile of chewed, torn, unrolled toiletpaper. Lovely picture.
Kitty Rant
I promise not to dwell on this, but Let me tell you about my kitty. She is a Katrina refugee, I found her in Biloxi in August. She was hanging out in some debris and wouldn't leave us alone. The guy who lived there said she was a stray. She was small and skinny, but very friendly. When it was time to go home, I just couldn't leave her, she had no food, no water, no dry place to stay. She rode in the car amazingly well, sleeping on everyone's lap, giving 'kitty kisses' to all. I had to keep her in seclusion when we got home as I have other cats. After I took her to the vet, had her checked out and given all her shots, she has become the 'child I never had'. She's into everything, knocking things over, jumping on things, getting into trouble. I've had to 'reconfigure' my living quarters so she won't destroy anything. I bought new furniture in February which she's pretty much attempting to destroy. I really was going to give her away, but when she slept one night on my shoulder and purred in my ear, I was hooked. She is so affectionate, but also fiesty. She'll be rubbing up against my legs one minute, nipping my toes the next. I finally managed to trim her claws, so it's not so painful when she 'plays'. She 'helps' me do everything, from picking out my earrings to cleaning the litter box. My other cats are 'adjusting' pretty well. We still have a lot of hissing, but they'll get over it. I will admit that I have crossed the line from just having a lot of cats to becoming the Weird Cat Lady. Such is life.
No good news
I was listening to a local college radio station yesterday and they were broadcasting some discussion of international trade and economic issues. He advocated a consumption tax in the US vs the income tax and he was also talking about an international effort to coordinate global economies. I didn't hear the whole discussion, but he made some interesting points about the trade deficeit, the US debt, and global business. I don't spend much time pondering the US economy, but we MUST do something about the budget. Basic economic (mathematical, physics, et. al.) theory says the income must be equal to the output to acheive a balance. The present administration doesn't seem to believe this theory. I'm not sure what theory they belive in. At least Ronnie Reagan had the 'Trickle down' theory. WIBT? (What Is Bush Thinking?)
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'

Welcome to the world, IMHO! Very nice!
BTW, try turning your TP around so it rolls the wrong way, if you haven't already. It will be harder to unroll...unless it's worth it for the entertainment value.
