Lurkers and Stalkers

Gosh, it seems like I've got a lot of lurkers. I'm flattered. And a comment to the Anonymous Ones: Yes, there are many anonymi (isn't that the plural of anonymous?) out there, but I know who some of you are, just by the nature and wording of your coments, Polly. (Oops, did I type that outloud??) The other folks, (and Polly) keep reading!


I'm a Professional
We had a Silent Auction to raise money for various charities here at work, and I donated a lovely necklace/earring/bracelet set. It was one of the biggest money makers in the entire auction! I've already gotten orders from several other people over there for more and one lady in the Legal department wants me to come over and display my wares around payday... Yeah me! It's a semi-precious stone called Fancy Jasper and it looks great with brown, green, burgundy, black, turquoise, almost any color. So now my name is out there and my business card.

I need to figure out how to take this type of picture, I can't get the right light or reduce the shadows. And I can't find my digital camera. Someday I'll get a webpage.

Churches Under Suspicion
Just in time for my Spiritual Awakening, seems that Joyce Meyer, Creflo Dollar and a few preachers are in a bit of trouble. The Senate has asked an accounting of their donated money, including any overseas accounts, vacation homes and other stuff. Bummer. All we get here in the Atl is news of Dollar and Eddie Long, who have ministries here. But I read an article on Joyce Meyer in the St Louis paper and it went into some detail about what the problem is. Her ministry is a $124-million-year ministry, she has her own jet and lives in a $20 million home. ouch. I heard Creflo on TV explaining that the congregation 'gave' him his Bently. Come on guys, God wants you to be successful, but a Bently? A $20 million home? However, Joyce has written over 70 books, and she is living off the royalties of her books. OK, I'll give you that, an honest dollar for an honest day's work. But a Bently? I'm betting Joel Osteen and TD Jakes are next...


Diwali
Today at work we are having a lunch, catered by the Indian (Asian) programmer population here. Diwali is a 'Festival of Light' and sweets and candy are a large part of this. I think I could like this. I'm looking forward to learning something.
