3 Days into the week IS humpday, except this is a 4 day week.
God Must Be Listening
It rained a bit last night! I guess Sonny's Prayer Meetin' worked. We only got less than 1/2 inch, but it was rain nonetheless. I'll pray today for a larger paycheck...
And to Anonymous
The nerve! Someone blogging as 'anonymous' on my blog! You could at least have the decency to identify yourself, specifically your name, ssn, bank account number and credit card number.... And yes, I used grey water, it gives the eggs a special flavor. ;-) (And they think it's the wasabi! Hah!)
Paychecks and other hassles....
I am a consultant, and the company I work for is useless. They got me cheap for this job, it's my first time consulting as a BA AND when a consulting firm asks you for your rate, either annual or hourly, I now know what they mean. Annual you get holidays and sick leave, hourly you don't, so pad the hourly... Anyway, I started working in late August, and they had to do a background check. As part of all the paperwork, I had to fax them a Direct Deposit form. It's mid November and I STILL don't have direct deposit. I talked to them about 3 weeks ago about this and I had to fax them another cancelled check.
Now, as everyone knows, I'm a Socialist Liberal, but I do have some standards. These people are from a different ethnic group and I applaud their business saavy in starting their own company. My first paycheck was delayed due to my own fault, but they made no effort to get me my check. An 'American' company may have made more of an effort, but I didn't push it as it was my fault. Now this Direct Deposit is another problem. I've already given them hell. They also told me I get paid every 2 weeks, but my last check came in the mail on Oct 27, with a Nov 1 date. I have to mail my check to my bank as they don't have hours on saturday, so there's at least a 3 -4 day delay in getting my money. So I asked them again, 'When is payday'. because I was expecting another check Saturday. Turns out, payday is 1st and 16th. So now I can plan accordingly.
The best part though, is the name on the check. As part of the paper work I filled out on being hired, it asked for your middle name. These immigrants now call me Jane Doe Jill (First Name, Last name, Middle name, no punctuation). The bank doesn't seem to have a problem with that but I'll get on my high-horses after the check clears. If you're going to do business in the United States, LEARN THE CORRECT WAY TO ADDRESS EMPLOYEES. We, as American business people at least attempt to learn how to pronounce and use appropriately names of co-workers and employees. They could at least do the same.
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'

I had the same problem with my company, but they messed up my health insurance payments. .They forgot to start taking deductions for a few months, then came back and took a lump sum deduction to make up for it and then they took too many deductions because they did not know when I started on THEIR plan.... Gotta watch them carefully....
