Is It HumpDay Again??!!

My how time flies when you're having fun!?

Still love my job!
I still love my job, I'm getting into more stuff and learning how things work (or don't work). I won't say much as I'm in a fairly sensetive department of the state, but I'm learning SO much. Somethings I wish I didn't know, but stuff.

Drought, cont'd
Well, the landscaping went well, I've got a nekkid hill covered with pine straw. What to do, what to do? I guess when I can water again, I'll plant something. It has been raining these last few days, and for the first time in a LONG time, Lake Lanier's levels stayed the same. Read some of those stories about the horrible drought.

But the best part is the Army Corps of Engineers and the other government agencies have long held to a law that empties Lake Lanier of 1.5 BILLION gallons a DAY to feed the stream to keep 2 species of mussels in Florida alive (and a power plant working). So sad that an entire region will soon run out of water, but those mussels must live! Will these guys wake up? I always thought the Federal Government had their head in a different place, I guess this just proves it!

In all fairness, this IS a law, and we all know how long it takes for the government to change the laws, except in an election year. (Maybe next year!)

Dali Lama
He's here in town now, to be a Visiting Professor at Emory University. He spoke downtown last night, and Stupid Me didn't go. What a great opportunity, and I blew it. Actually, I didn't even think about it until today. That would have been a great opportunity to see and hear a great spiritual leader. I don't know much about him, but I'm always up to learn and experience something different. Next speaking event, I'll try to go. And I'll keep an eye out for other enlightening events.

Speaking of Enlightening Events
Joyce Meyer will be in town next week for a 2 day conference in Gwinnett. I'll be there with some friends. I'm looking forward to this, she's quite a speaker and her message always hits home.

Stress and the Single Woman
I've got two meetings tomorrow, back to back from 9am probably until after lunch. I had a 2 hour lunch meeting today, and another one hour meeting yesterday afternoon. These are interesting meetings, but how does one get anything done? That's why I have to test 'GoToMyPC' tonite. Not that I want to get into the habit of working at home, but when the opportunity presents itself, I'll have to know how to do it.
The opportunity will present itself, I'll have to get the septic tank pumped soon, as well as get some contractors in here to replace the wood along the roofline where the carpenter bees like to make their homes. Thank GOD I'm making money now and can do all this stuff.

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
