This commuting seems to be working... I walk about 3 miles a day and by Wednesday, I'm so tired. I was in bed last night at 9:30, and probably not too far behind that tonite. I love getting old.
Meetings and Meetings and Meetings
Seems my job is all about going to meetings. The normal meeting lasts close to 2 hours. How does anything get done?
Nothing in the News
I didn't find anything in the paper to b*tch about! It's all pretty much the Same Old, Same Old. Politicians lying, acused of lying, pretending not to lie, athletes breaking bones, contracts, laws, and Stupid Celebrity Tricks. I wish something new would happen. Be careful what you wish for!
I Love Working Downtown!
Wednedays in Woodruff Park, they have live performances. The first one I caught was a few numbers from a play (too short, and the play looked kinda stupid), I missed the next one (in a meeting. Suprised?!) But yesterday was Roger 'Hurricane' Wilson, a blues player. Small crowd, nice and cool and breezy, he was great. I Love working downtown. Check out some of the next performances and come on down, we'll meet for lunch!
TV Shows
I watched 'Caveman' this week. They missed that one. This had so much potential. It's about some cavemen in the 21st century in San Diego. (It was originally placed in Atlanta, but they couldn't duplicate Atlanta city scapes in LA. Yeah, sure.) It's as funny as a show about 20-something horny men can be, all about going to bars, picking up women, trying to live with 3 men in an apartment, fairly predictable. I think it would be funnier with maybe an older crowd or a family...? Just a thought. I'm disappointed. And I think 'Grey's Anatomy' is lost. If my surgeons were that immature and insipid (nice word, huh?), I don't think I'd go to a doctor again.
The Weekend
This weekend there is TONS of stuff to do: The Greek Festival, a Walking Tour of Oakhurst, Tax-free weekend on Energy Saving appliances, the SOB Hash on Sunday, and Best Of All, I get Monday off for Columbus Day. Columbus Day was originally a celebration of Genoese immigrants (Italians!) and was made a national holiday at the behest of the Knights of Columbus. Imagine, an 'American' Holiday, not about Americans. (The sarcasm doesn't really translate well into typing. Just picture that sentence Dripping With Sarcasm!)
Coming up: Oct 19-21 the Highland Games at Stone Mountain!
One last thought: I saw some verigated lantana's yesterday at Ga State. Now I've got to get some next summer.
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
