Back to The Old Grind

What else to do??? Now I'm armed with a class from GWU on Business Analysis, if I could just get the interview right....

Something New
Tonite I'm attending a seminar sponsered by the
IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysts) for new BA's. I was hoping to get into something like this before I paid all that money, but hey, things happen. I'm still able to make contacts and work with Real BA's.

I've also volunteered to work with the PMI (Project Management Institute) on a project to redesign their webpage. Again, something technical that I can put on my resume and something to make direct contacts.

SSDD
So now it's back to the Old Grind: Read the job boards, apply for jobs, wait for phone calls. I have 2 email addresses and 2 versions of my resume, one for Ga and one for Va, so I have to keep them straight. I'm also finding that most of the recruiters have Indian names (Asian Indians) and they are unfamiliar to me, so it's hard to remember them, where they're from and what the job was. Yes, that's my problem, so I have to 'develop a process' to remember their names. They also don't speak English very well, so it's extremely difficult to understand them, especially when they're talking technical stuff. I'd like to learn a little more about Hindu or any Indian language, just to get a better idea of how they speak English. They seem to accent the wrong words, which makes it difficult to understand.

A True Renaissance Man
I came across this letter in the Opinion Section of yesterday's AJC, written by Jeff Watkins, the artistic director of the New American Shakespeare Tavern. Not only can this guy act, sing and play the sax, he's an articulate writer. Whodathunkit?

A New Link

I've added a new link, to the Onion. I've heard and read a bit about this page, but never got that interested until I picked up a printed edition on the streets of Rosslyn, Va. I couldn't stop laughing. Where do they come up with this stuff? Check out some of their news items, it will be sure to have you laughing, like the one about Ben Affleck wondering if Jason Bourne needs a sidekick in the next Bourne movie. Too funny.

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'

I understand what Jeff is saying in that it's the medical staff that provides health care. Here's the problem with doing without insurance companies. If people can't afford health insurance, how in the world could they possibly afford to pay the whole medical bill? That's what health insurance is all about, making it affordable so people don't have to pay the whole brunt of medical expenses. I think the issue is somehow making it more affordable for people to have health insurance.
