Put the Cats out

It's nice enough this morning to let the cats out on the front porch. I know Remy, the Himalayan will be just fine, but Miss K will want in soon as she's just a normal cat. (If you only knew how wrong that statement is!)

People are Pigs
I've just been working in the food service area for only a few weeks, and I'm disgusted already. People are just pigs. Some come in and look at what you're serving with a sneer on their faces, ask what you're making, take a bite, either like it or don't and walk away, or if they like it, they come back for seconds. Some folks will come in, pick up a piece of whatever and then ask 'What is it?'. I tell them it's Road Kill, what are they going to do, they've already picked it up and it's enroute to their faces ? Then there are the CellPhone addicted, who come up, take whatever and walk away, never ending their phone conversation. There are the kids who want to try everything, grab at everything, then come back for more. There are the Senior citizens who will try anything, but not buy anything. The finicky eaters who don't eat nuts, meat, beef, peppers, onions, seafood, blah, blah, blah. I actually met one woman who doesn't eat butter on bread. The best one though, was the man last night, who, when I offered him an 'Asian Beef Roll' , proceeded to tear one apart saying 'Are you sure it's not pork? Because I don't eat pork.'

Mostly people are nice, friendly, and willing to listen to my pitch. The parents make sure their kids say 'Thank you' and only take one piece. Lots of people say 'Thank you' or 'No thanks'. I'm not generalizing who the good ones or the bad ones are, they come in all shapes and sizes and colors and languages. I've meet some friendly people who want to share cooking stories, one person jokingly wanted to hire me to cook for their family. (If they only knew...)

One Thing I've Learned
In the last few weeks, I've learned that PMS during The Change is a LOT worse than PMS on a regular basis. When those old ovaries stop working regularly, you seem to be stuck in perpetual PMS. I had some depression issues with my PMS, but the tide seems to be changing and I'm getting pretty irritible. I'm trying to keep it in, it's really not a reason to argue, but I'm just pissed. At a lot of things. Remember that character in 'Steel Magnolias' that Shirley McLain played? The Bitchy Old Neighbor? That's me. At least at this age I can be considered eccentric, not bitchy. To some people anyway.

What is this world coming to?
Astronauts being arrested for kidnapping? In Diapers? Models weighing over 130 lbs? More abuse charged against a local preacher? I can't even marvel over politics, I just expect them to be stupid.

The Astronaut story is still confusing me. I can't seem to get past the part about how she drove from Houston to Orlando with NASA diapers on so she didn't have to stop to use the bathroom. So what's the rest of the story? She kidnapped her rival in a love triangle? She should be able to get off for being peri-menopausal, she is over 40.

Tyra Banks, the 'Super Model' weighs 161 lbs and is 5'10". She's got curves now, but all the magazines are posting pictures and calling her fat. I wish they'd just shut up. Not everyone can be a size 2. When I die and all the meat rots off my bones, they will weigh 140 lbs. I'm one of those 'Big Boned' girls, a size 12 was the smallest jacket I could wear due to my broad shoulders, so a size 2 is completely out of the question. Maybe my thigh, or even more realistic, my pinky finger.

Earl Paulk, a local preacher has been charged with adultry and sexual misconduct by several of his parishoners, and now his granddaughter. I hate to say it, but why am I not suprised? Powerful men, men of God or not, tend to believe they are above the law, but these women weren't too bright. Paulk convinced both of them that it was God's Will that they satisfy him, and they were gullible enough to believe him. One woman had an affair with him for 14 years! I don't think I'd want this woman to be leading my choir! Didn't she understand her vows she took with her husband? Didn't she understand the teachings of the Bible? Was he really That Good?

I have to take my Happy Pills now.

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'

I know you well enough to know that you have at least one 'new' opinion a day, yet you don't post them>>>>.
