Daffodils in February

I've got some daffodils in bloom in my front yard. Methinks they're confused.

Saturday Night Fun
I had some friends over Saturday to celebrate my birthday. Nancy, Barbara, LeighAnn and, eventually Sonya came over. I enjoyed the laughs, gossip, advice, general BS. We discovered that a Supreme Pizza without olives or peppers is a Meat Lovers Pizza with mushrooms. We discovered that Miss Katrina loves Nancy, and understood that Barb and LA had cat issues. We also discovered that my kitties aren't too keen on puppies. Sonya brought Licorice in and he sat on the couch with his mom. He's a 8-month-old black and white Whippet. He is SO cute, and very well behaved. When I first met him, he was a little black and white football, now he's grown legs! Nancy was only drinking beer, but between the rest of us, we drank 5 bottles of wine and a bottle of champagne.

Sunday Recovery
Suprisingly, I wasn't hungover on Sunday. I took an aspirin and drank 1/2 bottle of GatorAde before bed on Saturday, (actually Sunday, it was 3AM!!) and I think that helped. I also consumed mass quantities of water yesterday. I met my other friend Barb in Old Norcross for what started out as coffee but turned into a late lunch. From there I went to the Farmers market to dispose of all the bottles and newspapers, then off to Stone Mountain to walk. I did the .8 mile Nature Trail, the .36 connector trail two times, then walked to the foot of the mountain and up a few feet. All in all, I was moving for about 1 hour. It was a great day and it was a great exercise.

Grammy's
I don't ever watch awards shows, but I wanted to see the Police last night. Of course I missed them, but I watched parts. How about those Dixie Chicks? I've got their first CD and it is good music. I missed Mary J. Blige, thought Carrie Underwood did justice to the Bob Wills tribute, as well as 'Desperado', but what's up with Rascal Flatts? I'm not into country like I used to be, but the lead singer needs to revamp his image. He looks like a fat, middle-aged guy trying to look young and hip. That hair was just stupid. I loved the way Chris Rock introduced the Red Hot Chili Peppers: 'They had their sox jox long before Justin Timberlake put his dick in a box'. LOL! I'm not a big fan of the Peppers, and I couldn't understand the lyrics even though I recognized the song, but again, what's up with Flea? He looked stupid in his yellow soccer uniform, jumping around on stage. I guess I just don't get it. I also don't get Justin Timberlake. IMHO he doesn't have a recognizable singing voice, he isn't all that good looking and appearing on stage with a suit and screaming white tennis shoes just didn't work for me.

A Face to Remember
I watched 60 Minutes interview with Barack Obama and I was somewhat impressed. He's articulate, humble (for a politician) and seems to have the right ideas. He's already come out about smoking pot (he did inhale), doing cocaine and being black, so there won't be any issues in the press. He didn't fight in Vietnam, but he wasn't old enough to go. He is truly an African-American, his father is from Kenya, so the race issue won't be so bad. His only problem is lack of experience, but how much did George Bush have? Just think: Clinton/Obama or even Obama/Clinton. Wouldn't the Good Old Boys have a fit over that one?!

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'

Do you realize that if Obama does win, he will be the first president that is YOUNGER than we are.... ouch.....

At least Flea wore something other than his usual tidy whities. He was actually over-dressed for him.

I'm really sorry I missed your birthday, lady! I didn't even know you were having one (we all stopped doing that, right?). :) In any case, hope it was wonderful!
