Dawn of a New Day

It's stopped raining and the sun is out! What an omen.

Political upheavals
Well, I guess the Democrats have a 'mandate' to reform America. Just as much of a 'mandate' as Bush had when he got re-elected. Now we get to maybe find out how many civil rights we really lost and how and how misguided the government is. Then we get to watch the Democrats self-destruct. Ahhh, politics.

Didja notice how gas prices went up from Tuesday to Wednesday? One of my coworkers claimed the gas prices at her regular gas station went up about 30 cents over night. Hhhuummm....

Yea! Rummy is gone!
Donald Rumsfield suprisingly resigned yesterday. And I read where Bush and Nancy Pelosi are trying to make nice. Think Bush got the message?? Anyway, Donald 'Warmonger' Rumsfield resigned yesterday. I haven't read any articles about it or watched the news, but I think this is a good thing. Although the guy they got to replace him, Robert Grey, the former head of the CIA, didn't he do something bad, Back In the Day? I remember some press he got about something... So Think About It: A former spook as head of National Defense. Scarey.

Recovery, cont'd
I made it through a 10 hour day yesterday with no problems. I started taking non-aspirin and all is well. Still don't know exactly what things look like, I can't see very well in the mirror and the hair is all caught up in the stitches. Plus I don't want to look too closely, it kinda makes me queezy. And it's still very tender and sore. I kinda feel like I got kicked in the head.

Shopping
I had to do 'go-backs' yesterday, all the items people decided not to buy at the cash register. Ever shopped backwards? I had all this stuff in my cart and I had to find out where it went. It's hard enough to find some things in the store, but to find the Exact item and put it back on the shelf is tough. Especially things like men's body wash or baby stuff. I don't shop for those items, I have No Idea where they are. I can make a good guess, but it takes a bit of wandering around.

Arrogant American
There seems to be a stereotype developing which is annoying as H*ll. A lot of the 'new' Americans seem to stick very closely to a budget, something I guess all Americans should learn how to do, but these people bring several items to the register, and as I'm ringing them up, they count their change. After a few items, they say they don't want the rest of what they picked up, so it goes into the 'go-back' pile. Sometimes these are store employees! I guess I was PO'ed yesterday as it was late in the evening and I had taken back most of the go-backs, so this woman brought up some noodles and baby food and decided that she didn't want the first item I rung up (as it was too expensive), along with the other pack of noodles and several cans of baby food. Why did she bring all this up if she couldn't afford it? I think she was trying to confuse me and get more than she paid for. That's happened before, also. This lady brought up several loose tomatoes in a single bag. I noticed there were several types of tomatoes and opened the bag and rung them up separately. Suprisingly (!) she didn't want the most expensive tomato in her bag. This same woman just moments before had handed me some trash which consisted of napkins and a chicken bone. But she didn't buy any chicken wings. So I guess she got a good meal on our store.
It's amazing what people get away with. I'm always finding empty containers or drinks in the store. I know this isn't a high-end store, and most of the people are good people, but there's always a few.

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'

I guess by putting stuff back, you learn where things are. That is kind of cool. I as a shopper will wander forever trying to figure out where an item would be. And every grocery store seems to have a different layout. I know, quit your bitchin', I could just go to the same grocery store. But there are so many to choose from. (and I haven't even made it to the new Trader Joes in Roswell yet!)
