Champagne Tastes on a Beer Budget

I thought those days were over, when I had more bills than money. It's actually not the bills, it's my 'hobbies and interestes' that cost so much. But then, what is life all about if you don't have hobbies? I should get interested again in reading, that doesn't cost so much.

Gardening
I broke down and bought some pansies and mums yesterday to plant this afternoon or tomorrow. I have spent in excess of $100 on plants and stuff in the past, but this time it was only $20. Then I have to plant them. That's another reason I've cut down on the plants. Someone (me) has to plant them. I'm over the annuals, get me some perennials! It's time to do some clean up, too, mow down all the liriope, clean out some weeds, etc. so I've got things to do.

Making Jewelry
This is an obsession I've got now, and hopefully I can turn it into a self-supporting hobby, but not just yet. I've taken some classes at Michael's and I've learned alot, but no more. They charge you for the class and you have to buy the materials, but the designs call for tons of beads. Even though you get a discount, you have to buy the materials there on site. Each class is sponsered by a bead supplier, so you have to buy their beads. The necklace and bracelet we made was lovely, but it would have been a lot less if I could have chosen my own beads. Next time is a lovely necklace with lots of crystal beads, and I know it's going to be expensive. As soon as I can work with the camera more, you'll get to see my beads!

Free Tickets!
As listed in the AJC yesterday, there was a Free Ticket giveaway on Oct 1. Some theaters decided to continue the 'tradition' so check out : www.georgiaperforms.com for free and/or discounted tickets. Looks great! They give out 2 tickets per email, so if you need someone to go with, call me!

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
