I walked alot in bad shoes yesterday, so my feet are hurting today. What was I thinking? I'm trying to be a professional photographer, jewelry designer and job hunter, all at one time....
Tourist!
Awhile back, I bought a book with Walking Tours of Atlanta and yesterday my friend LeighAnn and I decided to take some. I was afraid to wear my tennis shoes, as that's what all the (American) tourists wear, but wearing my hiking boots makes me look VERY butch, so I wore some of my Valley Forge Tennis Shoes. (With peds!) What fun we had! This tour started at the Visitors Center at Underground Atlanta, so that's where we were. We looked around Underground as neither one of us had been there in many years. Nothing's really changed. So we start the Tour. We by the representation of a phoenix, I think. How you can get a phoenix out of 5 wingy-like things at the top of a building is beyond me, but there it is. We follow the directions thru the parking lot, down to the lower level to find Mile Marker 0. Who knew it was there?!? We see churches, a pretend Liberty Bell, a Peace Tree, and a statue of a hashers uncle at the Capital Building. We trek around the corner near the Fulton County Courthouse where Brian Nicolls killed everyone, and eventually get back to Underground. We decide to walk the next tour, thru Midtown, but we get lost following the directions, can't find the street we want, so we start walking. We discovered the Fairle-Poplar area, and because my feet were hurting and I was thirsty, we went into a bar. With 2 hashers together, going into a bar isn't the best idea if you haven't completed your project. Several beers and a wonderful Cuban sandwhich later, we head for the car as it's almost 3pm and we all know traffic in Atlanta.
Several times I caught LeighAnn laughing at me for walking around reading my tour book. Next time, I'm going for the whole image, tennis shoes, camera around my neck, maps, everything. We had fun, found a new bar, and enjoyed some exercise. There are many more tours we'll be taking, so let me know if you're interested, it's a lot of fun!
Camera Saga
I am know the proud owner of 2 digital cameras. One is new, fresh out of the box, the other a slightly used one, both working. Now if I could figure out how to work them! LOL! Actually, both are pretty easy and can do alot. It's my problem they don't take the kind of pictures I want! I'm trying to get pictures of my jewelry before I sell it, but I can't get the detail and/or color as I want. I'm trying again outside with natural light to see if that's better. It takes pictures of cats quite well, but the flash scares them and they close their eyes. I'm learning.
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'

If you are trying to get some real close ups, you will need a camera with more MP than the one I gave you. Maybe I can come over one day with the 'good' camera and see if that works any better.
If you need some more history in your life, I had some relatives in town last week that went to the Atlanta History Center in Buckhead. My uncle said it was one of the better museums he's ever been to, and they've been to plenty. He's into the civil war, so that might have been part of it.
