Oh, I'm So Bored

What is one to do? I have to get to a better place (not physically, but mentally). I go through this every once in awhile, I get bored and have to 'reinvent' myself. I need some excitement in my life or at least the promise of some excitement.

Unfairness
The case in Florida where the teacher diddled her student repeatedly but got off (no pun intended) because he didn't want to testify. She just happened to be a good looking blond. Is there a connection?

And of course the case here in Georgia where the 37-year-old did a 15 year-old and got pregnant and had their baby. Now she's in jail, can't see the father and a friend is raising the baby. What is wrong with this picture? The courts seem to have the interest of the child at heart so they keep giving custody of kids to abusive parents, but here is a family that can't raise their child. Granted, both the father and child are still children, and this 'marriage' probably won't work, but at least give the child a chance to be with 2 parents. I don't think anyone involved in this story can be acused of being too intelligent, but she's already raised some kids and wants this baby. Let them be a family for as long as it lasts.

My Miami Connection
I haven't heard from my friend from Miami (actually Hollywood, FL) for a while. She's been going thru some really tough times, but she seems to attract some of these times. She's had skin problems all her life and has been taking cordisone for years and now it's affecting her bones. She's just around 40 but has serious osteoperosis, she's had back and neck problems not related to that for a few years, her dad has alzheimers and her mom isn't one to be in charge. Her boyfriend is in a hospice dying from lung cancer and she's in a dead end job. No one deserves that much crap in their lives. Anyway, her birthday is soon, so I will call her this weekend. She and I used to go to Key West a lot when we worked together. We'd go at least once every 3 months, for a weekend. What a blast. I remember several times, sitting at a bar on Sunday morning and trying to decide what I wanted to drink, I'd had just about everything that weekend. I think it's time for a Key West trip again...
