Not much going on, it IS Monday
Chili Cookoff
This past weekend, I participated in the Atlanta Ski Club 5th annual Chili Cookoff in Benton, TN. (I think it was the 5th) The Club rents all the facilities from Welcome Valley Cabins, located on the banks of the Ocoee River. We all drive up on Friday, go hiking Saturday AM, cook chili that afternoon, then have the cookoff and socializing Saturday, then breakfast on Sunday and go home. So far, I've been to 3 of these and have yet to hike. It seems to rain every year. This Friday, we were treated to the lovely sound of rain on the tin roof of the cabin. We drove around the area, up to Telico Plains, thru Ducktown and Turtletown. We saw lots of calves, dogs, goats, dead cats and abandoned double-wides. Country life is definately different.
The 'chili' that won (5 votes for best, 8 for worst??) was basically spaghetti sauce with rotini. Some were good, some were unremarkable and some were tomato sauce. What is the definition of chili anyway??
Now I've seen it all
I got home yesterday about 3-ish and didn't want to do anything. So I sat in my chair with a kitty and watched the tube. Wasn't really up for the Super Bowl, but I did tune in to the 'Puppy Bowl' on the Animal Planet channel. It was 2 hours of puppies in a play area that looked like a football field. Music was playing, and the puppies were playing. They had a 'bowl cam', in the bottom of the water bowl. Now I know pet lovers were watching this. I watched it for a few minutes at a time during the afternoon. It was quite bizarre...
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
