No Monday Comments!

I decided to do this today as I have nothing to do but get on the treadmill today (procrastination) and I have a doctors appt Monday at 8:30am (practical) and won't have time to do this at work, er, I mean, on Monday...

Great Weekend
Friday night dinner with friends was great! I had reservations for 10 and everyone showed up, a little last minute juggling, but it's all good. I love Cafe Lily and hadn't been there in a few years. They've 'expanded' and have a few more tables than they did the last time I was there. We got the new room with the bathroom within walking distance, which was good as we drank copious amounts of wine.
Thanks to everyone who showed up. It was an eclectic crowd, with lots of different interests and lots of conversation. I love it when people who may not have ever met each other can have a good conversation and possibly make a new friend.

Saturday was cold and rainy, so I got some stuff done around the house and finally got to the nail salon for a pedicure and a manicure. Just to pamper myself. I also made it to the bead store and only spent a small fortune. They always have great stuff, and very helpful and friendly sales people. On the way home, I stopped at Whole Foods to get some dinner. Unfortunately, I sampled some cheese (Amsterdam Reserve, excellent!) and ditched the fresh, warm dinner idea. I bought some of the cheese and some Cave Aged Gruyere along with some Black Bean Humus and a loaf of French bread. I made that my dinner (and lunch today and snacks till the bread gets stale). Not very dietetic, but very good. Easy cleanup too!

My sick Kitty
I had to take my kitty, Misty to the vet on Friday as she wasn't eating and was hiding under the bed in the guest room. They did some blood work and gave her a subQ to hydrate her. The doctor called on Saturday to say the bloodwork came back and she has either a heart problem or a kidney problem, but she's definately got a loose tooth. So I have to take her in tomorrow for the dental work, and for more blood workups. She hid in the guest room most of the day on Saturday. I wanted to make sure she ate something, so I got a jar of Gerber babyfood (they LOVE Veal) and put some on a plate and left it near her in the bedroom. She ate some, so I put some more on a plate and moved it closer to her under the bed. I was laying on the floor, talking to a cat under the bed. This morning, she's hanging out on my bed, where I took her some more food. This cat is playing me like a fiddle. She ate an entire jar of baby food, curled up on my bed, nice and warm. She's working it!
I got her in January 1998, just before I went to Paris for my birthday. She was 2 then, so do the math and she is an elderly kitty. I may have to be making a very sad decision in the next few days...

Finally Winter!
I talked to my parents this weekend in DC, and they have a foot of snow on the ground. My mom said it was beautiful last night with the snow coming down, covering the branches. My Dad must have gone to the store yesterday afternoon for some bread and milk as my mom usually hates it when it snows. But being retired, they don't have anywhere to be, so I guess she can enjoy the snow now. I see flurries outside my window now. And boy, is it COLD!

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
