It's only January

This warm weather is incredible. Eventually we'll have to have some 'winter' weather, but I'm loving this! I just wish I had more time to take advantage of the weather. Last year, when I was working at the coffee shop, I'd go in early (5:30-7:30am) and be off at the latest by 1pm. Then I'd ride my bike. I wasn't making enough money to pay my bills, but I enjoyed having time to do that.

Role Reversal
Some Democrats in the Georgia Senate have introduced a bill to allow an elective course for high school students on the Bible. This is wrong on so many levels. But what makes this really funny is the Senate Republicans are fighting it. They claim the Democrats are pandering to the religious voters in an election year. I can't even begin to get my thoughts in order about this. I'm stunned.

Parental Notification
The Supreme Court has struck down a ruling by another Federal Court about a New Hampshire abortion law. They said the state has a right to enforce parental notification laws to protect the health of the child. I know I'm sorta out of the loop on this kind of stuff, but in the case of abortion, Parental Notification translates to the 'girl has to suffer the results'. Unless basic biology has changed in the last 20 years, it takes 2 to make a baby. Why should the woman always suffer? Why shouldn't the boy(man) who got the teenager pregnant have to suffer some consequences? In this day and age, unwanted pregnancy shouldn't be an issue. But because some folks feel that any sex education is condoning pre-marital sex, we shouldn't have sex education. And any pregnancy prevention is tatamount to murder, so we shouldn't have that either. Just tell the kids not to do 'IT' and we'll be OK. Have you seen TV or movies lately? Have you seen and advertisements targeted at teenagers? Have you seen how performers dress? I'm so glad I don't have kids!!

Wanted: Sugar Daddy
I've decided I want to lead a pampered life. I'm tired of the 9 to 5 grind, the traffic, the BS one has to put up with. I want to be taken care of. I know it's easier when you're a 20-something blond with surgically enhanced features, but come on. Someone out there should want to take care of an overweight, middle-aged woman (just a few pounds!). I can fix things around the house (or at least know someone to call to fix it) and I've been known to kill my own bugs. So if you know a financially secure older man (I look for Medic Alert bracelets) who wants to take care of me, please let me know.
