What an interesting weekend. I went to a very nice re-gifting party on Friday, I took a book about sh*t, brought home a Jesus soap-on-a-rope. Some interesting gifts, a multicolored lighted fake bonsai plant, a 'Scarface' poster, a red dress (imagine) and some Mary and Jesus night lights. The Jesus theme comes from the Jesus clock that was a hit last year. When I left at 11:30, most of the boys were waiting for the XBox 360 to come out and start playing. WooHoo?!
Most of my weekend though was spent in an antihistamine haze. Evidently, I'm allergic to something in my house, probably mold from some rotting wood outside on the chimney. I had problems last year and had to buy new furniture which I thought solved the problem. So what I have to do now is go to an allergist, get the chimney fixed and maybe hire a company to come in and clean everything. Hey, it's only money. Of course, the 4 cats and 6 feather pillows probably don't help.
New Year's Resolutions
I'm not doing too badly sticking to my resolutions. I've managed to use my treadmill 5 days last week, and I took a walk yesterday as it was beautiful outside. I also decided to start with acting on some ideas I've had. I'm pretty indecisive about making a 'large' purchase. You must remember, both my parents are products of the Great Depression and they were old enough during that time to remember the hard times. My mom is extremely 'frugal', not wanting to spend much money on anything. Some of that rubbed off on me, so my house still looks like a frat house in some cases, cheap used furniture, cheesey decorations. It's getting better, I'm getting rid of lots of my junk. Now that I've finally gotten new furniture, I would like a new rug and I've been thinking about it for quite a few months. I took the plunge yesterday, picking out a nice 8'X10' rug. Well, it's not exactly right, so I've got to take it back, but it was a start. I also purchased a Tiffany lamp for my dining room. Now to put it up...
Computer Dating
I signed up for a computer dating service (not Match.com) and at first it was kinda fun, checking out everyone who's checked me out. I even sent emails to a lot of the men in the area. (It's like finding a job, all about numbers) So far, I've started a nice correspondence with a gentleman from Flagstaff, AZ. but all of the Ga boys aren't doing ANYTHING. I've even posted a picture. I'm not drop dead gorgeous, but I'm not ugly either. I just don't get it. I know as men age, they become less aggressive, but I've sent emails to these guys and I can't get any responses from them. Dating over 40 sucks. Where do guys my age hang out??
Hail to the Redskins!
And to think Atlanta had Joe Gibbs sitting on their Board of Directors (or something) and let him go. Maybe Atlanta is getting what they deserve?? 8-8 after many loosing seasons isn't too bad. We all know there are only 4 football teams that matter, the Washington Redskins and whoever they play and whoever beats the Dallas Cowboys. Speaking of football, this whole situation with Marcus Vick and Va Tech seems so ridiculous. I certainly hope that little Thug doesn't get into the NFL. He gets kicked out of college due to legal infractions, so the NFL will take him on, pay him millions and bail him out of jail? If they do, that is such the wrong message. But it's all about winning, isn't it? Character and abiding the law aren't really important any more, are they?
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
