Hump Day

I was going to start my exercise routine this morning, get up at 5:30, do 30 minutes on the treadmill, go to work. Yea, right. I did wake up at 5, then went back to sleep. I finally dragged myself out of bed at 7am. There's always tonite.

Political commentary
Sandy Springs, the new city in the Atlanta area, has just passed some major laws to try to move strip clubs out of the city. (no alcohol, no VIP rooms, etc) I don't go to strip clubs, but they have a right to exist. I have been to male strip clubs a few times, but never really enjoyed the experience. I don't really understand why a person feels the need to go to a strip club, but it's not my place to tell you you can't go. I don't think it's demeaning to the women, as long as they choose to be there. They also make very good money. Sandy Springs will miss the revenue generated by this legitimate business. I understand the stereotypes surrounding strip clubs, and I understand why Sandy Springs wants them out, but I don't think driving business out by creating more rules is a good thing. Although it's done all the time, with all sorts of business. I think it's the concept of legislating morality. Why don't they quietly raise the taxes on strip clubs?

Now back to normal mundane things.
I'm trying to sell my guest bedroom suite on CraigsList but haven't heard anything. I'd really like to get rid of it, I don't need it and don't have room for it. (It's a lovely Art Deco-style 4 poster full size bed with a 5-drawer dresser and a vanity with a 4' round mirror! Send me an email if interested!) It's that time of year, time to purge all things not needed. I think that's a phase that hits around middle-age, you try to purge all the crap you've accumulated thru the years.
