At least the weather is beautiful. I really haven't been in much of a mood to do anything outside.
Job Hunt
On Wednesday, I had an interview with a head hunter with leads at several major companies, and I went to the IIBA meeting, where I made some more contacts. On Thursday, I went to the Decatur Seekers group, renewed some old friendships unfortunately. I say that because these are some people that were unemployed when I was, and they are either back or still there. It's good to see friendly faces, but in this situation, I'd rather not. Then I went downtown to a PMI lunch, where I made a few more connections. So now I have to set a plan on how to work these connections. Keep your fingers crossed that this Adventure in Unemployment doesn't last too long.
Small, small world
We all know how small the world really is. It always amazes me that there really ARE 6 degrees of connections to almost everyone. One of the women I was talking to at the IIBA meeting is a former Georgia Pacific employee, so was my former office mate at DOC. Turns out, they knew each other! She helped George get motivated to study for his PMP exam.
The other night, I received an email talking about some type of scholarship. It was a personal email, but it was sent to me in error. I looked at the signature and the sender was a BA at Suntrust bank. I sent her an email back saying I wasn't the intended recipient, but I WAS a BA looking for a job. She asked for my resume and said she'd help. When I attended the IIBA meeting, her name was all over the place! So we are destined to meet sometime.
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
