VD day is kinda stupid, don't ya think? You should show your love and respect for significant others all year long, not just one single day. Just saying.
This Too Shall Pass
VD day has never really been important to me. My birthday being so close to VD took precedence. When I did have a SO, I expected more excitement on my birthday and they were excused on VD. And when you don't have a SO, who cares? Just have a good feeling for everyone else, random acts of kindness, you know, that sort of thing. Blah, blah, blah... No really, Random Acts of Kindness do make you feel good to give and receive, try it!
Thanks For The Input...
I think. To the 2 Anonymi who suggested I read 'He's Not Than Into You', you all receive the Understatement of the Year award. Duh, I KNOW he's not into me, and therein lies the problem. Why isn't he into me? Why can't I meet someone who wants to spend time with me? Why am I Never The Right One? Why does everyone else meet and start dating someone? Why am I always the one to show up alone? I'm trying so HARD to keep a positive attitude and not give up, but after doing this for So Many Years, ya kinda wonder why I waste my time.
Enough Self-pity. Increase the dose on the Happy Pills. On to more sh*t.
Speaking of Sh*t
In the last few days, in my trek from CNN to my office, I've had to step over several piles of human excrement on the sidewalks. This is gross. According to the currently held philosphy, the Homeless have a right to be homeless. Yes, if that's their choice, then let them be. And I have the right to walk to my job without fear of picking up contagious diseases from human excrement on the sidewalk. The City of Atlanta has built a brand new pubic toilet at the corner of Edgewood and Park Place in Woodward Park. This is a place for the 'residents' of the park to relieve themselves, but they really don't care about much about property issues. So MY taxpayer money goes into cleaning and maintaining the toilet.
Now before some of you conservatives start blasting the left for being so socially liberal, I seem to recall that the Great Ronald Regan cut funding to mental health institutes that caused them to release many patients. They can't go to jail, they can't or won't stay in a shelter, so where do they go? They homeless/mentally ill exist, we can't just ignore them out of existence. What can we do? You can't start the mantra of personal responsibility, these people don't (for the most part) have a grasp of personality, much less responsibilty. And you can't always depend on 'family', some people don't have family, or the family can't help. I don't know what to do, what would the proper solution be? I'll just have to start wearing plastic bags on my shoes, and not wear my walking shoes in my house.
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'

Or, just be really careful where you step?
