Not much happened this weekend, but that's pretty OK.
Shakespeare
I went to the Shakespeare Tavern on Friday. I drove to work, and the only place I could find coffee was at Dunkin' Donuts in Mid-town, so I figured, 'while I'm here...' and bought a dozen donuts to suck up to the boss. LOL! Friday was a dead day, the big boss was teleworking, my office mate called in sick. Not too many people there, so Lisa and I worked on the project we had started on Thursday. After work, I went directly to the Tavern, only being a few blocks south of the location. We got good seats, it wasn't a sell out so it wasn't too crowded. One of us didn't show, so there were only 4, 2 Barbara's and me and Alan. The play was OK, wouldn't go see it again. After a few words with one of the Barbara's, I decided I didn't want to go home, so I found a Real Dive Bar and stopped for a drink. The band was pretty good, so I had more than one. Some drunk old guy bought me another (who am I to turn down a drink??) but I finally left. I got home and it was near 2am. (What was I thinking??!) I was greeted in the driveway by a small, very fuzzy kitty. Seems Remy and Miss K escaped sometime during the day, but were more that ready to come back in. I guess they thought they were cool until they realized there was no food or water or nice comfy bed to lay on. Needless to say, I bought a screen-ing tool the next day and fixed the screen. Not to worry, neither kitty got even close to the side of the patio they used for an escape. My True Pussy Cats.
Gardening
In my search for the gardening tool, among other things, I found some solar landscape lights on sale at Lowe's. Just what I needed, I bought a large box for $15 and did some weeding today and put them in. They look great, and I think I'll go get some more to replace the low-voltage electric lights I put in a few years ago. It's only in the back yard, so the lighting isn't too bright, but the effect is nice.
Al Stewart
He's playing at Eddie's Attic on Wednesday and I can't wait. He always puts on a great show. You may remember him as the 'Year of the Cat' guy. He still does that song, but many others too. He does a lot of 'story songs' that reflect his interest in history. He also did an album of Wine tunes as he lives in California and is into wines. Not one of his best albums, but pretty good.
IIBA
On Thursday, there is the monthly meeting of the International Institute of Business Analysts. It's a professional organization, one that I have to make some headway in, especially if I plan to remain a contractor. Gotta find the next job someway! The meeting is held at the UPS building and they even feed us! I learn a lot, too.
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
