Pollen, Pollen Everywhere!

My black car isn't just a muted black with a yellow hue, it's outright yellow. The pollen count was 5500 or so yesterday and 120 is considered hazardous. I left footprints in the pollen on my concrete driveway this morning. Will it ever end??!! I'm glad I don't wear contact lenses anymore, I wouldn't be able to do anything....

Aging Parents
Got a call yesterday from my sister informing me my dad was taken to the hospital yesterday morning. Seems he was having chest pains and trouble breathing, so they went to the emergency room. Of course my Mom waited until 9am or so to call the doctor as soon as he got into his office, and then she waited for my dad to feel better so he could drive them. Mom was never really a big one to drive, and hasn't driven for several years, which is probably a good thing, but doesn't she know the number for 911? They waited in the emergency room for over 8 hours for a hospital room, and my dad had to use the bathroom, but wouldn't ask where it was. We've been thru this before one other time. They just don't know what to do. They will take care of all their friends, but who will take care of them?? But, according to my mom, they are fine. So how does one do this? It's taken my older sister and her husband several years to convince her mother-in-law to sell her house and move into a retirement community, but they are doing it, she'll be moving as soon as the space opens up. I completely understand the need for independence and privacy, but enough is enough. They need to be in a place where someone can help them when they need it, not when it's convenient.

Aging Me!
So what will I do? I don't have a family to rely on to take care of me, I'm all alone. I've always thought the idea of a Retirement Community was a good one, you're with people your own age, with the same interests and needs. They take care of you, organize trips, have concerts, all the fun things that I do now, and intend on continuing. It's always easier with a group, so I don't travel much alone, I join groups. I hope I've got sense when I start loosing mine...(?)

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'

I think a bunch of us that don't have children need to buy into a community together, then we can run it, and as we need help, we can hire it. We will be partying together forever that way.
